Other more significant minority groups are doing better. Muslims should do introspection instead of blaming the Government for bending down to their whims and fancies all the time.

The Jains, Christians etc are doing better than Hindus as well.

Again after partition we had millions of poor and uneducated we are improving. Our literacy rate was 12% after independence now its more than 75%+. All other religious community have shown improvement but its only Muslims in India that are stagnant.

the only Muslim countries whose ranks behind India in HDI is Syria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cameroon, Afghanistan, Yemen, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, and Erithrea. But hell, most of them is lies in South Asia and Africa, the land of forgotten.

However, the survey, which uses data from Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM), appears to have either quoted the figures wrongly or the numbers have been fudged intentionally.

While the overall literacy rate for 2012-13 has been shown at 60%, it is actually 58% in the PSLM data.

The figures are alarming as under the United Nation’s MDGs, Pakistan was required to increase its literacy rate to 88% by 2015. The net primary enrolment ratio, which should have been 100% by the end of this year, has remained constant at 57% since 2011-12.

Muslims in India not only lacking in education but also behind social and economic platforms because they have very less opportunities in India to get Jobs and this is a chain reaction no jobs no money which means very little resources for them to educate their children and those who educate their kids disappointed because educated Muslims gets only few jobs as compared to other religious groups.

Incorrect. The fault of this lies in Nehru's ghettoism .... and perpetuation of that mentality by vested interests reducing Muslims to mere vote bank in general.

this has been the case since british.... one reason could be that most indian converts are from lower castes and continued to do their lower caste job that does not need formal education... muslims still dominate such areas.
The upper class muslims are well educated... as expected. However things are changing since last decade or so, poor muslims start to send their kids to school as they realize it can increase their financial wellbeing.
Muslims dont like govt jobs but they are doing well in small businesses.

Muslims throughout the globe,the vast majority of them lack severely in both secular and proper religious education.

The vast majority of Muslims don't know what they're reading when they pick up the Quran because they are not fond of Arabic nor do they bother to read translations of the Quran.

Ironically,Islam as a religion,lays a lot of stress on education,secular or religious,but hey,why would the Muslims care.Muslims and Islam are increasingly becoming two totally different things.

It is really commendable for you to accept this unbiased truth.

Even in India, Muslims tend to focus less on education and literacy compared to other communities. It is available to them but they just aren't as interested. I think it is partially because they are afraid of the effects of secular education on their kids.

Low Muslim literacy is common almost everywhere with Muslim minority populations.

Also there are issues their parents have with multi cultural values.

Many Muslim children at least attended school because they got the mid day meal. Now since this meal came from Hindus, it created a ruckus and the children were withdrawn. So guess how literate they will turn out to be. Sad state of affairs.

Pakistani hindus have very low literacy and high fertility(higher than Indian Muslims) who should we blame?

Pakistani brothers. This is not a surprise. Muslims are being targeted and discriminated by non Muslims in India. Muslims need to work twice as hard as a Hindu in order to get anywhere.
