At 36% Hindu illiteracy Muslim illiteracy should be not our focus. 36% of Hindus being illiterate means 360 million of them. 43% of Muslim illiteracy means 77.4 million of them. All this accusation and chest beating over 77.4 million Muslims not getting educated while overlooking 360 million Hindus not being educated really is ridiculous.

I think what @madokafc is saying is we cannot extend the South Asian muslim phenomenon/characteristics broadly to other parts of the world with Muslim populations.

There are particular challenges and successes that vary from place to place....sometimes its little to do with the religion directly itself.

Absolutely. That's why I mention sub-continent. Sub-continent people tend to get girls married early irrespective of religion. While other religions have evolved, Muslims still defend by it. And its a sub-continent phenomenon.

Madikafc doesnt seem to understand if other Muslims are improving, when sub-continent muslims arent, he thinks its the fault of government. While government has a role to play in this, it cannot interfere in personal choices one make. Sub-continent people have a different mentality

I think high birth rate is the major issue.
