you wouldnt say this if she was taken.in for lesbo kissing...

Does not matter what I say or not. How does showing face amounts to showing "flesh"?

You know what guys. We should be happy about this news. The west is sinking into extremism in the world reshuffle that has been going on in the world. Once upon a time the Islamic world was the thing to follow for civil rights, art, music, theater, literature, once upon a time Arabic was the most common spoken language in the world. Before it latin, before it Greek, (not counting china technically since it rarely involved in nation vs nation situations) now it is English. This is how the world works. Our grandchildren will live in a different world than the one we do now. This is simply how the world always worked.

Today two news caught my attention:
1-France jails a woman for 2 years against her freedom.
2-Saudi Arabia to allow women into football stadiums and is building it's first arts university.

You see how the world works??

This exaggeration of the Islamic glory is sick and perverse thing Muslims do often that i find repulsive.
Don't talk about Civil rights of Islamic world and insult millions of girls who suffered in the slave trade of which Arabia is the center.

i am happy about SA progressing but you don't have to invent history.

.
That's exactly my point.
You didn't get it.

You're not clearly making a point. You questioned the civil liberties of the arrest, and speculated whether this will advocate fanaticism. Why don't take a clear position?

Laws are always Supreme!

Prat, whats so supreme about sending a 32 year old mother to jail because she is expressing her freedom to wear what she want?

Sarkozy is a little ****, he'll get what he deserves though everyone does in the end.

.
It's the law of the country. If you can't follow it then please pack your bags and take the next flight out of the country. Is that so hard to understand?

Oh and the west has never engaged in any of these atrocities? It repulses me when one takes a side knowing full well that there are skeletons in every society's closet.

I agree. But Is she really expressing freedom to wear what she want?
well someone the other say some lady from middle east, probably rights worker, said
It's funny how the women who have never been forced to wear a face veil today argue about the rights of women to wear one.

Did you care to think that perhaps she is a French citizen and has every right to protest?

Whats wrong is wrong so slavery should always be condemned but that doesn't mean everything else that happened in the Islamic empires was just as bad.

It's like saying because America opened gitmo or that Germany did the holocaust that nothing ever good came out of western civilisation.

You cant board a flight if you refuse to show your face. Possibly smuggled out in ferry is best option.

Is that even an argument? You should ashamed to have written something like that.

The answer to your question is obviously, YES.

If you are a citizen of that country and the law was changed then you have a right to criticise that law and demonstrate that it is unfair.

I went to Paris recently and I saw many women wearing hijab with abaya's, so there aren't any restrictions to Muslim attire.

A full face veil aka niqab can be obstructive however and for the greater good of society, its better to ban it.

Islan doesn't ask for a women to have her faced covered completely too.
