Muslim teen (Saudi Arabian girl) reveals father's response to removing hijab

Why have you turned Islam into a sultan Rahi movie? You always seem to write threatening dialogues like in Sultan Rahi movies.

Islam is crystal clear on most of issues and told what is Halal and what is Haram and has placed duty on every Muslim to stop Haram and Spread Halal.

. .
No it doesn't. Hijab means modesty, it doesn't mean a headscarf.

And the Quran specifically tells women to cover their breasts on two occasions. And on other occasions it tells them to cover their private parts and dress modestly, just as it tells men.

But nowhere in the Quran does it specifically tell women to cover their heads or faces.
No Hijab doesn't mean modesty only you need to re learn Islam and Quran. Orders of Hijab are clearly told in Quran and you are the first one to deny it.

.
When did Allah say i will burn women if they don't wear hijab?
Such stupid claims give a bad image to religion. Muslim women don't become pagans if they don't wear hijab.

Allah doesn't burn any one for these little issues but Zaravan and his brethren would.

This was written in a private chat and later picked up on social media and afterwards it became news. Apparently such big news that BBC posted it as well.

Moreover I do not agree with your view of Muslim women ceasing to be Muslim if they do not wear a hijab. In such a case millions of people in your own country, Pakistan, are not really Muslim.

I have seen many photos of Pakistan women in public in Pakistan who do not wear any headscarfs.

You should refrain from such bombastic comments as the ratio of women wearing headscarfs in KSA, Arab world and Middle East is significantly higher than the one in South Asia. Yet I would not make such a bold claim that millions of South Asian Muslim women who do not wear a hijab, are non-Muslim.
And do you think they get respect in society no they don't that is what it's you break order of ALLAH and his RASOOL SAW you loose respect

I feel terrible for Al-Hasani. He started a thread that shows how good this father is, and it turns sour.

A few days ago I started a thread about a Saudi academic who said gender segregation isn't mentioned in the Quran and should not become the basis for Islamic law, and it also turned sour lol.

It seems that people don't want us to reform. They don't want the Arabian Peninsula to remove radical elements that in fact have no real basis in any religion. It's as though they want this part of the world to remain ideologically backward forever.

This is a joke right? Your thinking has spread fitnah and oppression in Muslims countries.

All the more power for you guys. I'm just here to defeat Pakistani extremists, they think they are on some Jihad, acting more Arabs then Arabs themselves.

^^The Quran doesn't mandate the hijab. End of story. The Quran only says that men and women should dress modestly and cover their private parts.
hi,

Really :) reference please, especially for "Private Parts" where Quran mention this that cover private parts.

@Sharif al-Hijaz , the issue here is bigger than hijab. Why do you think this tweet become report worthy in western press? What is the underlying sub-text of this whole tweet that western media is trying to promote? The underlying subtext is :

- Liberal notions of absolute personal freedom where even parents can NOT impart moral values to children.
- Orintalist western notions about how islam is oppressive to women and how muslim men are control freaks and how this liberal sounding father is such an enlightened good guy among millions of "barbaric" saudi muslims.
- The liberal notions of how its OK to come out and rebel against your religious values.

Not wearing hijab may not make a women non-muslim BUT its the unanimous consensus of Islamic scholars that hijab is compulsory and that NOT wearing it is sinful. The Quranic verses & hadiths talking about the compulsion of hijab is numerous. Simply put its an indisputable established principle of Islam similar to the other islamic tenets of One God, finality of the Messenger Muhammad (peace & blessings of God be upon him), 5 daily prayers, zakat, hajj etc etc. The compulsion of hijab has been only questioned since the advent of western colonialism by westerners who are in a never ending secular crusade against the Muslim world.

And more importantly bro, trying to make Islamic principles palatable to simple-minded bigots by watering it down or giving false information does NOT help Islam's cause but is rather self-defeating and humiliating. It also leads non-muslim astray by giving false information. Rather when one stand up truly for Islam without watering it down ,at the very least , gains respect from the non-muslims. Those who do NOT like Islam would never accept it no matter how much watering down you do while those who have an open mind and objective outlook would accept the beauty of islam as it is without any watering down. An uncle tom coconut who is suffering from inferiority complex never gets respect and have no self-respect. Please read about how the sahabas of the prophet (peace & blessings of God be upon him) stood up for Islam and have the firm conviction and pride about what they believed. If one needs to use liberal lexicons and water down Islam to portray a "good image" about Muslims then he/she must introspect whether he/she have firm conviction about Islam.

May Allah (swt) guide us both to the path that pleases Him most.

On the contrary. Simple-minded bigots might change their perception/view of Muslims as individuals which the article also states was actually the case.

It also shows that the girl in question, has no intention of removing hear headscarf.

Why talk about a "Western liberal agenda" when this article is aimed at Western readers and read by very few Muslim to begin with as the media in question (BBC) is a British media? I have a different view of this article as I stated.

As for the father's reaction, you do not know his views other than him saying that this is a decision that she (his daughter) has to take as she is sufficiently old (17 years old) to know what to do in this regard. Moreover I am sure, if that conversation is genuine, that he would have advised her that it is recommended to wear a hijab.

You are making up a storm from a tiny glass of water when there are literally millions articles out there who have the agenda that you guys state which is a agenda that I don't personally agree with.

However to state that Muslim women who do not wear a hijab for a period are no longer Muslim, is not something that I can agree with and I doubt that most Muslim clerics (regardless of sect) agree with such views.

This thread should be closed as this has turned into a theological debate which was never the intention and politics. We obviously have different interpretations of this article. I posted this article aimed at non-Muslims on this forum. Similarly to how that article was aimed at non-Muslims as a whole. I mean no offense to any user here that I have interacted with in this thread and I respect their views. I have never commented on the theological part of this discussion but solely about the motives behind this girls actions which I think showed her from a good side and also helped prevent added fuel to the Islamophobes out there and her supposed "friend" from the US in that chat group.

The moderators can delete this thread.

It sucks that your thread was ruined, but please don't stop starting these kinds of threads.

Seeing the positive side of the Gulf makes me optimistic about the future of Arabia.

Don't wearing hijab ' in public ' is a sin but it is not kufr!

Even adultery, drinking alcoholic wine and thieving are not kufr but great sins and you can do istighfar after doing them and God will forgive you " if you don't repeat "

Don't wearing hijab is not even a great sin because God hasn't said I will take you women to hell if you don't wear hijab!
