Why does a weather man read the news, why does the economist comment on fiscal policies, It is the job of the cleric to define what the Islamic values are. Malaysia is a very tolerant country you need to go there to find out and if not try google
You think that Malaysian woman DOES NOT know what an Islamic Dress Code is? If she grew up in a Muslim country, she can't be uneducated enough to understand what Muslim women wear usually :D
And regarding Malaysian "tolerance", here is all the information you may ever need on violent use of flogging and caning in Malaysia for "crimes" we consider nuts here in the Western world:

That was well said, you demand teachers to teach you everything, yet on religion you ask for autonomy. He did not give a fatwa to kill her, just defined in his understanding what is Islamic
LOL :D. I didn't ask for autonomy on religious matters or taking authority on religion "away" from original religious scholars. What I said what was that unless these centuries old religious rulings regarding modesty of woman are reformed to work in the modern world, there is no hope for gullible Muslims in the present or future :D

There is no forcing in what he said, but rather his view which was asked for or he gave in the press. I wonder where your freedom of expression dies off to when this happens
His comments regarding a sportswoman and a national hero were nothing short of disgusting. We have many similar singers turned Mullahs like Junaid Jamshed saying things about women that have nothing to do with Islam. Sick people all lots of them :D

Did you even bother opening them before you argue
The rest of your rants are not worth reading
What I said was perfectly valid and it is true. Mullahs alone should not decide what is the "right" and "wrong" in Islam. Since faith is a matter of human being with his / her G-d, its still up to the individual to decide on how they will follow their religion. Sure they are free to give their opinions, but coercing people into accepting their own religious rulings as something divine and at par with rest of Islam is lame :D

yes if the one writing something of value is you.

But iwill speak for you where i can. Aap mujhay mana nahi karain kabhi. There is only an extent to which a human could tolerate nonsense. I have been observing things for quite some while now.
It is true however that I write (and speak) harshly and offend people. I am aware of this shortcoming of mine. I have inherited this weakness from my parents and it is not good at all. One should always try to keep his/her cool and maintain composure. At this age, it is almost impossible for me to change my style but for you youngsters, I'll suggest you to be flexible, and polite, and diplomatic all time. Those who don't get bend often end up broken. Our Prophet (PBUH) said that softness makes everything beautiful.

She can.

Why? We're not forcing her. We're not insulting her. We're stating our opinion. What's the problem? Where's all the freedom of speech gone? Height of hypocrisy? If you have a problem with religious peoples' opinions, simple, don't read them.

How do you know that this particular molvi never criticised suicide bombers? What, do Muslims have to start every sentence with ''Suicide bombers are a bigger problem and I condemn them unequivocally''? I know of many religious scholars issuing fatwas against terrorism.

Look, just because there is a bigger issue somewhere in the world doesn't mean we can't express our opinions on smaller matters.
Did those girls wearing those clothes get Gold or first?

To all the members ( who accuse Farah ann abdul hadi) of defence.pk, Muslims in South East Asian are liberal when compared to Middle East and South Asia so your statements.

She represented Malaysia in SEA games so it means Malaysian government is "All OK" with her attire :P

But not that 'liberal' and you'll agree with me if you have seen and interacted with Malays of Malaysia. Malaysian government is totally secular but Malay society is not, in-fact pretty conservative.

Yeah, i have interacted with Malays ( I'm from SG). Malaysia government is kind of conservative compared to Malays (except for the North). Moreover, Malays give more importance to their cultural identity which I like a lot.

Not yet. But it isn't their clothing that prevents them from it. If all you had to do to get a Gold or First was get half naked, those awards would have no value.

Even men are half naked during swimming competitions! o_O . Your problem is that you are against women in Sports and not their attires.

No. My 'problem' is that I disagree with Muslim women wearing revealing clothes. I am perfectly fine with women in sports, as shown in the pictures I posted as evidence that women can participate in sports while wearing decent clothes. Don't try to turn this into a misogyny argument, because it is not one.

And this wasn't a swimming competition, it was gymnastics.

before going on a rant learn the job of clerics and Mullahs as you keep calling them, Chastising is the right of a cleric, it is an equal right for her not to listen, That is the basis of freedom of expression.

True, he has a right to air his opinion. But it makes me wonder why he (and countless others) opine only about women, and never about men. Here is Ahmad Amsyar Asman, a muslim swimmer from the same country:

Why does that not set off anybody's immorality detectors? Is it so hard to see the double standard being practiced?

Y do you bother wasting time with these lot?
let them be & just move on.
do you think they know this verse from Al Araf? The evil spoken of is not keeping the sabbath & the ones saved would be"mullahs" according to today's standards.
"...........................We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged."

But it is OK for men to do so? In say, boxing? Or gymnastics? Surely they can wear a light t-shirt when boxing?

Men's pants should be long enough cover their knees. Otherwise, their chests being bare is allowed according to Islam since they do not have any sexual organs there, unlike women. That is why.

Bro, I appreciate your loyalty towards your religion ( this comes from an atheist ) but South East Asian Muslims are not the same compared with Middle East or South Asia.

Moreover, in Malaysia women wear head scarf also known as tudong and not the infamous burqa. They are just not the same

PS: Google for Malaysian Airline air hostess :D

So why is it that no cleric bleats about dress code when men do not cover their knees?

Where is the outrage? Where is the "Oh, modest muslim men should wear longer pants!" opinions?
