I think You need some almonds and Dabur Honey ;) Lokeseva k lia

This is because he's in a habbit of seeing things his way and then criticize them for the sake of criticizing.

A good reply from the president. If the west wants to take it the hard way so be it. And its not about emotions, there is a limit anyone would take blackmailing. West in paticular the US has crossed all limits and i dont see a difference the way they threat iran and the way they are threatning us.

Hi,

The president's comments are fine and well---but then that is only the first step----the second step should be a strike on the extremist hideout immediately---it should work out as a one two punch. Pakistanis need to see some results.

Salim, you are correct---if it wasn't for the opposition's negative campaign against this govt for the last five years---pakistan would not have been in this bad a shape----who is to blame----Nawaz Sharif and his party---Qazi Hussain Ahmed and his party---Imran Khan etc---they treated pakistan as it was someone's else's wh-r-. It is tragic---either through incompetence or their self centered agendas, they have done irreparable damage to the country.

I don't think Musharraf is realistically in a position to bring immediate harm to coalition forces. The most he can do is offer further refuge to the tribal fighters operating in Afghanistan. But then this too will have severe consequences to the nation at large.

He is between a rock and a hard place.

Yes but when you are already between a rock and a hard place then some things that you don't think about otherwise become viable options. In any case his statement has been made more threatening than what it was.

Here is a more detailed version of his remarks:

Musharraf warns US against entering Pak

Islamabad (PTI): President Pervez Musharraf has said any unauthorised incursion by US forces into Pakistan to pursue al Qaeda militants would be treated as an invasion, warning that US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan would "regret" such a misadventure.

"The United States seems to think that what our army cannot do, they can do. This is a very wrong perception. I challenge anybody to come into our mountains. They would regret that day," Musharraf said in an interview to Straits Times.

The New York Times reported earlier this month that Washington was considering granting the Pentagon and CIA new authority to conduct more aggressive covert operations in Pakistan's tribal areas where al Qaeda is believed to be gaining strength.

Asked if any unauthorised incursion by US forces would be considered an invasion, Musharraf replied: "Certainly. If they come without our permission, that's against the sovereignty of Pakistan."

Musharraf, however, said when it comes to Qaeda supremo Osama bin Laden, the "methodology of getting him will be discussed together and we'll attack the target together".

"Any action against him will be free, if we know where he is, if we have good intelligence," he said.

The President said US forces alone would fare no better than their Pakistani counterparts in the rugged terrain.

"Here it's a mountainous terrain. Minimal communications infrastructure. Every individual has a weapon and each tribe has its own armoury and they don't like intrusions into their privacy at all," he said, adding "it's better if they ask some military or intelligence commander of their own whether their army, their people, coming into our mountains will operate better than our army."

.
He's right (Musharraf). The Americans would do a lot worse than the Pak Army in the mountains. Just ask the Soviets.

Musharraf's statement was for Pakistani consumpton. What else is he going to say? It's common knowledge, only about 50 US special force soldiers are operating inside Pak. US has already have carried out predetor directed attacks in Pakistan. US is in no position to send massive invasion force, they just don't have manpower to do that. Musharraf needs US badly for the constant infusion of money. Musharraf has to rig the elections to stay in power(ISI & MI are working over time). If election is not rigged then Musharraf is done.

do you have any evidence for any of that? like 50 US special forces, or did you hear this of a friend of a friend of a local Mullah? (or perhaps you're Ansar Abbasi hallucinating about angels talking to him?). Is that the standard of evidence you need? The other things is that Musharraf is not unpopular in Pakistan if opinion polls are to be believed. Most of Punjab will vote for him (and quite a lot of Balochistan), and that should be enough.

From Shireen M Mazari article
It can and continues to get worse
As part of our distancing from the US perhaps we can reduce the number of unexplained Americans present all over Pakistan who are fluent in the local languages, attired in local dress and travel all across the country including areas such as Warsak and Quetta. At a time when travel advisories abound against travel to Pakistan, there is a question mark as to who all these mysterious Americans are in Pakistan?

.
I doubt ISI is so weak they can't distinguish locals from foreigners. I think there are enough other elements aside from Americans who would try and destabilize Pakistan. Time for ISI to find them and deport them or just smash some heads.
