Muridke The Real IAF Target?

india has already stated which places they will be targeting.
1: muridke (lahore),
2: kashmir,
3: Karachi.

both the incursions took place in the regions which india has already included in their hit list. both the air forces were on hight alert. both the incursions happened on the same day. and both the planes were fully loaded.
these facts significantly decrease the probability for these incursions being inadvertant.

if we believe the PAF sources, indian jets only came in by 4 to 5 kilometres before they were requested to go back by pakistani planes. this means it will almost be impossible for indian planes to carry out strikes without facing PAF.
as far as the question of indians targetin these places using their brahoms messile is concerned, i am 100% sure pakistan has also got some key indian locations on their list which they ll be targetin in response.

this makes me think there is no chance for indians to carry out strikes inside pakistan without escalating the situation to a full scale war. If our gov doesnt respond properly and tries to cover things up by giving statement lik we cant see their planes, there will be another coup and army will take over.

It's good to see the broad spectrum of battlefield and political scenarios being discussed. As a newbie to the forum, I'm thoroughly entertained by all the posts on this thread....

The timing of this particular inflammation in Indo-Pak relations is different from past conflicts:
- Bad worldwide recession
- US/Nato and Pak fighting a hammer and anvil battle in FATA/Afghan border where pressure needs to be maintained on Taliban/AQ forces
- new US president to be inaugarated within weeks
- a Pak civilian government who seem to be genuinely interested in making peace and doing business with India

All the above reasons indicate war is IMPOSSIBLE. Why?
- India has nothing to gain (sadly, bombing has already happened, people have already died - it's a sunk cost). There are better ways to prevent a repeat that a war (there is no such thing as "limited strike" - any unilateral military action will result in all-out war)
- Economically, Pakistan would be bankrupt - no savior to lend in today's global recession. India can kiss goodbye to any future foreign investment, their economy will be back to the 1970s and take years to recover
- Politically, would India prefer to deal with Zardari who lost his wife to terrorists, or yet another Army General, who would come to power if war happens?

So probability of any armed conflict happening due to the Mumbai bombing is precisely ZERO...sorry to disappoint some of you...

Unfortunately, there seems to be an awful lot of the 'doom & gloom' brigade around, more half empty glasses than half full ones…

An ANZA or stinger SAM cannot stop a SU30 OR BRAHMOS cruise missle.

And an F16 BLOCK 15 has no BVR to engage SU30 PAFs amraams ae not ready for use as the F16 ARE AWAY being upgraded.
