Understandable. This much has been known for a while. But Afghan Taliban would not come out swinging against TTP. For them it would be a distraction and may lead to in-fighting and factionalism. One can not expect them to do something like that. While Afghan Taliban are focused on getting rid of Western troops and winning back power in Afghanistan, TTP is focused on running areas under their control as fiefdoms and to exploit their nuisance value, while trying to expand its influence.
Though they both may outwardly seem similar, there are differences in their focus, aims, methodology, and backing. Liberals not only miss this, they purposely belittle the differences.
Though Mullah Umar has said similar things before, his reference to intelligence services seems to be new. Language too seems to be stronger than before. Mullah Umar wishes to retain influence in Pakistan by criticizing TTP.
