MQM Membership Campaign Started At Nine Zero
Mutthida Quami Movement has started Membership Campaign from MQM Head Quarter , with slogans "MQM---Ensuring a Strong Pakistan" . Campaign was started by filling Membership form from Member Coordination Committee.
While talking to the press conference Dr Farooq Sattar told it was Founder & Leader Altaf Hussain directives to hold said campaign. Mr Sattar said Altaf Hussain was the first leader who sent youth to legislative assemblies.
MQM to launch membership campaign today
The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) will launch membership campaign from Friday 14th November, 2014, and will appeal to the common people, especially youths to support and be part of MQM to promote MQM Chief Mr. Hussain’s political philosophy.
Talking to the media persons during a press conference in Khursheed Begum Secretariat, the Deputy Convener said MQM is collectively the sign of success for Pakistan. He said that the 98 percent of unprivileged class loved the country more than any other. He said that Altaf Hussain and MQM always raised voice against terrorism and extremism.
The Deputy Convener said that none of the political party in country’s history rendered such sacrifices as MQM did. He said that MQM never patronized hierarchical politics even no member of Mr. Hussain’s family ever got any position in MQM and he always distanced his family from the politics to avoid nepotism.
He said that only MQM could change the fate of the country and could resolve all the issues of the people. He invited people of all walks of life, especially students to come forward and participate in MQM membership campaign. He said that everyone had to come forward and promote the political philosophy of MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain.
Meanwhile, member Coordination Committee Syed Amin-ul-Haq said MQM is a democratic party, so it started its membership campaign from Karachi to Kashmir. He said that in the first phase the membership camp is set up in front of MQM Chief’s residence “Nine-Zero,” and from 15th of November membership camps are set up in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Peshawar and Quetta.

متحدہ قومی موومنٹ کے قائدجناب الطاف حسین نے کہاہے کہ محنت ومزدوری کرنے کیلئے بلوچستان جانے والے غریب پنجابیوں کو قتل کرناسراسرظلم ہے اور اس ظلم کوبندہوناچاہیے۔انہوں نے یہ بات آج ملک کے بے لاگ اورسینئرتجزیہ کار، ممتازدانشور، شاعر، ادیب اورکالم نگارجناب حسن نثارسے فون پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہی۔ گفتگومیں ملک کی مجموعی صورتحال پر تفصیلی تبادلہ خیال کیاگیا۔اس موقع پر گفتگوکرتے ہوئے جناب الطاف حسین نے کہاکہ مجھے بلوچ عوام کی محرومی اوران کے ساتھ ہونے والے مظالم کاپوری طرح احساس ہے اورمیں ان کیلئے ہمیشہ آوازاٹھاتارہاہوں اورہم نے بلوچ عوام پر ہونے والے مظالم کے خلاف کراچی میں ملین مارچ منعقدکرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ ہرفورم پر آوازاٹھائی ہے لیکن اپنے بیوی بچوں کاپیٹ پالنے کی خاطر محنت ومزدوری کیلئے بلوچستان جانے والے غریب پنجابیوں کووہاں جس طرح چن چن کرقتل کیاجارہاہے وہ کسی بھی طرح جائز نہیں بلکہ یہ سراسرظلم ہے۔ جناب الطاف حسین نے کہا کہ بلوچستان کے حقوق کیلئے آوازاٹھانے والوں کوسوچناہوگاکہ دووقت کی روٹی کیلئے بلوچستان جانے والے ان غریب پنجابیوں نے بلوچستان کے کونسے حقوق غصب کئے ہیں؟ بلوچستان میں ریاستی آپریشن کے دوران ہونے والے مظالم میں ان غریب پنجابیوں کاکونساکردارہے کہ ریاستی آپریشن کی سزا ان غریب پنجابیوں کودی جائے اورانہیں شناختی کارڈچیک کرکرکے قتل کیاجائے؟بلوچستان کے حالات میں ان غریب پنجابی مزدوروں کاکیا قصور ہے؟ یہ غریب پنجابی توخود اپنے حقوق سے محروم ہیں اور محرومی وفاقہ کشی سے مجبورہوکروہ اپنے گھروالوں کاپیٹ پالنے کی غرض سے محنت ومزدوری اورحق حلال کی کمائی کیلئے پنجاب سے بلوچستان جانے پر مجبورہوئے ہیں۔اگران مظلوموں کوپنجاب ہی میں ملازمت ملتی توانہیں بلوچستان جانے کی ضرورت نہ ہوتی لہٰذا بلوچستان کے حقوق کیلئے جدوجہدکرنے والوں کوان غریب پنجابی محنت کشوں کے بارے میں اپنی پالیسی پرنظرثانی کرنی چاہیے اوران غریب پنجابیوں کوظلم وبربریت کا نشانہ بنانے سے گریزکرناچاہیے۔ جناب الطاف حسین نے کہاکہ میں نے بلوچستان میں غریب پنجابی محنت کشوں کے بہیمانہ قتل پر پہلے بھی آواز اٹھائی تھی اور میں انتظار کرتارہاکہ پنجاب سے تعلق رکھنے والے رہنمابھی اس ظلم کے خلاف آوازاٹھائیں گے لیکن مجھے افسوس ہے کہ ان غریب پنجابی مزدوروں کے قتل پر پنجاب سے کسی رہنمایاجماعت نے کوئی آوازنہیں اٹھائی اوران مظلوموں کے سرپرہاتھ نہیں رکھااورسب نے اس معاملے پر بے حسی کی چادراوڑھ رکھی ہے لہٰذا میرے پاس اس کے سواکوئی چارہ نہیں تھاکہ میں جہاں دیگرعوامی ایشوزاوراہم مسائل پرآوازاٹھاتا رہاہوں،میں اس انسانی المیہ پر بھی آوازاٹھاؤں اور میںآوازاٹھاتارہوں گا۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ پنجاب کے نام پر سیاست کرنے والے رہنمااس معاملے پر کیوں خاموش ہیں؟انہوں نے کہا کہ ان مظلوم پنجابیوں کودینے کے لئے وزیراعظم اوروزیراعلیٰ پنجاب کے پاس بھی کچھ نہیں ہے اورپنجاب میں آنے والی ان غریبوں کی لاشیں دفنانے کیلئے بھی ان کے غریب لواحقین کے پاس پیسے نہیں ہوتے ۔ ممتازدانشورحسن نثارنے جناب الطاف حسین کی باتوں سے مکمل اتفاق کیااورکہاکہ اجتماعی خاموشی اور بے حسی کارویہ ہی معاشرے میں ظلم وجبرکے مزیدبڑھنے کاسب سے بڑاسبب ہے ۔

Grand Father of all Scams

The Sharif brothers and their closest confidante Khawaja Mohd Asif are all set to squander away an astronomical sum of 3 Billion Us Dollars.which will put to shame all scammers in the past such as Mr 10 Percent and his cronies…All other scandals such as Swiss accounts OGRA Hajj Ephedrine scams will be dwarfed if the script is executed.
The series of China visits by Sharif Brothers and their children, Khawaja Asif and a Lahore based tycoon ,are nothing but part of the grand design of the mega of the mega scams…
The Sharif brothers have struck deal with Some Chinese coal power companies to inflate the officially notified tariff and capital cost of power projects by a whopping 3 Billion dollars to accommodate their kick backs. The 6600 MW Gaddani coal power park and planned 6600 MW coal power projects are the crux of the deal combining into a total of 13200 MW. The main architect of the scam is Khawaja Mohd Asif who interestingly had challenged the rental power plants in Supreme court and a favorite of former CJP Mr Iftikhar Chaudhry.
He is actively assisted in this wheeling dealing by Salman Shehbaz younger son of Punjab CM and active participant in bilateral govt dialogues between Govt of Pakistan and China despite the fact that he does not hold any public office.
Sharif brothers who have a penchant for flouting rules or bending them to pave way for their grandiose corruption have established a nexus with Acting Secretary Water and Power Mr Saifulla Chattha, Ms Nargis Sethi CEO of Gaddani Power Park on one hand and looking after all important Economic Affairs Division. This division is responsible for approval of all financing agreements with Chinese companies and export credit agencies such as EXIM Bank, China Development Bank etc .
Mr Fawad Hasan Addl Secretary is lead person on behalf of PM Sectt for whiplashing non compliant officials. The final actor in the script is Kh Mohd Naeem present acting Chairman NEPRA and a brother in law of
Khawaja Mohd Asif and father of PML N woman MNA Shaza Fatima.

THE PLAN The plan of this scam has NEPRA as the main instrument. Since it is power sector regulator therefore it has its mandate to determine power tariff, key benchmarks such as capital cost of power projects, plant efficiency, issuance of tariff and other critical standards which have key influence on level of consumer prices and consequently corrupt practices. The equation of corruption has two critical variables namely Capital cost and consequently Tariff. Higher the capital cost the more the consumer has to pay over the term of agreement.(as simple as that…these Sharif Brothers and Khawaja will claim that it is still cheaper than Oil based costs BUT the fact remains that it is much more expensive than it should be)

The key to Sharif brothers plan is in capital cost of coal power projects. And the citizens of Pakistan will bear the brunt of this corruption in coming years.
The road to achieve this has been paved by Khawaja Mohd Asif who has moved a summary to NEPRA through his secretary Water and Power to reopen the upfront TARIFF already determined by NEPRA in JUNE 2013after a very lengthy process of consultation with stake holders and public hearings and formally notified in Sept 2013. Any one including Ministry of Water and Power could have represented against determination of NEPRA within fifteen days, which have long expired. The Secretary has asked NEPRA to condone the 15 day period by relaxing Section 31 of NEPRA Act. NEPRA instead of out rightly rejecting this illegal demand has fixed the case for public hearing.

The already notified NEPRA tariff and capital cost are very generous and already 25% above the internationally available data on capital cost. This NEPRA claims was done to attract investors for a period of 6 years ending 2019.In fact foul play was also done in Sept 2013 when capital costs for a 600 MW coal power plant were increased from 585 million dollars to 1.25 billion US Dollars. The tariffs notified in Sept 2013 for plants based on imported coal were……..cents per unit.
Now in collusion with Chinese companies the Sharif brothers cleverly playing Energy and China cards are clamoring to get these costs heavily increased and rules set aside to skim off 3 billion dollars over and above NEPRA determined price and 6 billion dollars over and above international bench marks.

The Ministry of Water and Power are hell bent to accomplish following goals


• To increase the capital cost by another 29% from 1.25 Million Dollars per Mega Watt to 1.5 to 1.7 Million Dollars per Mega Watt for 600 and 200 MW plants respectively.
• To increase tariff from the notified tariff by 41% to 65 paisa per unit for 600 MW plant and 40 % to 60 paisa per unit.
• To reduce plant efficiency factor for 600 and 1000 MW plants from approved 42% to 39 %
• To change PPRA rules to exempt Chinese companies from Procurement procedures and competition
• To Delete two (660x2) coal power projects At Gaddani from the Govt execution list and also hand them to private sector on the pretext of shortage of govt funds. In reality the reason is that if these projects are implemented by govt then it will have to follow PPRA Rules and announce competitive bidding which will expose real costs of these projects.
INTERNATIONAL EXAMPLES of COSTS
In January 2014, South Korea’s state utility KOSEP executed an agreement with an Indian company Jinbhuvish Power Generation to set up a 600 MW coal power plant in Yavatmal,Maharashtra a cost of 585 Million US Dollars translating into 0.91 Million US Dollars per MW .

• Similarly The Indian Government owned NTPC is setting up indigenous coal based (more expensive compared to imported coal due to mining costs) ……2640 MW plant in Bundelkhand Madhya Pardesh consisting of 4 Units ( 660 x4) at a cost of 2.9 billion US Dollars translating into 1.09 Million dollars per MW. It is well in knowledge of Mr Shehbaz Sharif but they are notorious for inflating project costs to skim off money. Examples are Metro project in Lahore and now in Rawalpindi at grossly inflated prices.

THE MATH of Corruption
Taking into account the planed implementation of a total of 13200 MW coal based power projects for which MOUs have already been executed ,the total amount of money to be looted is 13200x 0.25 million US Dollars translates to a very conservative 3.3 Billion US Dollars. In reality Chinese companies stand to make another extra 3 BILLION DOLARS.

The scheme so cleverly designed will enable the Chinese companies to set up the plants for free without putting a dollar of their own. The method is simple: Given the 75:25 ratio of Debt and Equity for these projects,

• the Chinese companies will put in 25 percent equity ( already over priced by 25% over and above world prices)
• and 75% bank loans sovereign guaranteed by Govt of Pakistan.
• The interest cost will be recovered from consumers.
• So 25 % being the kick back, the Chinese companies will be setting up the plant for free.
• Whereas Sharifs and Khawaja will be skimming the remaining 3+ Billion dollars

THE WAY FORWARD
To save the nation from this mother of all corruption it is imperative to launch a nationwide campaign through media, patriotic legislators politicians, professionals and also Supreme Court to demand an independent estimation of actual costs..otherwise Sharif Brothers and Khawaja Asif will again plunder national wealth.

For International Media: Three Pakistani Members Of The Provincial Assembly Injured In Karachi Hand Grenade Attack

A membership event run by MQM, one of Pakistan’s largest political parties, was attacked today by the Taliban, leading to several injuries.

Founder and leader of MQM, Altaf Hussain said “Today’s attack highlights the great threats which MQM members are facing as they continue to oppose the Taliban and all other forms of fanaticism and extremism. We pay an extremely high price for conviction politics. since August 2010 three MQM parliamentarians have been killed in similar attacks. Our thoughts go to everyone injured in this horrible attack, in particular the three MQM Members of the Provincial Assembly.”

According to initial reports, 29 people including three MQM Members of the Provincial Assembly sustained injuries in the attack.

As a liberal and progressive party, MQM has paid a heavy price for its determination to stand firm against the Taliban and all forms of extremism – during the last two years 585 MQM workers and supporters have been killed. 26 of those deaths are believed to have been extra judicial killings.

MQM is a party whose policies are closely aligned with global values. It also the only party to have highlighted the growing threat of IS in Pakistan.

MQM Worker’s Funeral , Action Should Be Taken Against Extremist Organizations: Aminul Haq

Member Coordination Committee Syed Aminul Haq said that MQM kept struggling for the rights of the deprived people of the country, especially Karachiites for the last three decades.
Talking to the media persons on the funeral ceremony of MQM martyred worker in hand-cracker attack on membership campaign camp in Orangi Town, Aminul Haq said that his party was spreading the political ideology of its chief Mr. Altaf Hussian peacefully from Karachi to Kashmir. He said in that connection MQM launched membership campaign for the last 10 days in the entire country.
He said that the elements frightened of MQM’s success intriguingly devised malice designs against it and the cracker attack on the membership camp was also the consequence of their fears. He said that in the cracker attack 3 MPAs and more than 50 workers were injured and should be condemned.
MQM senior worker Abdul Jabbar was buried at Gulshan-e-Zia graveyard near Liaquat Chowk in Orangi Town. The funeral was attended by Deputy Convener Dr Nusrat Shaukat, members Coordination Committee Syed Aminul Haq, Khalid Sultan, Abdul Haseeb, Kaif Alvari, MPAs, office-bearers and workers, including the bereaved family.
Member Coordination Committee Aminul Haq said that MQM Chief Mr. Hussain kept raising his voice against the terrorism and extremism in the country, which caused MQM workers, including three of its MPAs deaths in terrorists’ attacks from 2010. He said that not only the operations against Taliban, ISIS and other extremist organisations were needed but also the elements and parties, which provided moral and financial assistance to them, should also be comprehended.
He said that Mr. Hussain kept advising his workers to show patience according to his teaching despite membership camp’s attack. He said that it was his peaceful teaching that people from entire country enthusiastically joining MQM.
Mr. Haq demanded the federal government to feel its responsibility and not only took action against the accomplices of the said incident but also took measures against the extremists organizations to protect people’s lives and properties.

Who is working for IS if the IS is not present in Pakistan?
Member of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement Muhammad Wasay Jalil has said the country and the nation can suffer great loss if the people at the helm of affairs did not take action to eliminate the Islamic State threat. He said this while addressing a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat in Azizabad, FB Area, Karachi.
He said that Mr Altaf Hussain has informed the nation about the looming threat of IS but the rulers were not ready to accept the presence of IS in the country. He deplored the statement by Federal Interior Minister deny the presence of IS in the country.
Addressing the press conference Mr Jalil said that Mr Hussain had told about the arrival of Taliban in Karachi in 2008 but he was ridiculed while some political parties tried to give it an ethnic twist. The threat foretold by Mr Hussain became a reality.
He said that the terrorists carried out several attacks on MQM during the general elections of 2013. MQM MPAs Raza Haider, Manzar Imam and Sajid Qureshi were gunned down along with many other MQM workers over a period of time.
He said once again Mr Hussain has informed the nation about the looming threat of IS but it was unfortunate that the rulers were denying its presence in the country.
He said that the wall-chalking has been done in different parts of the country in favour of IS while IS posters could be seen along the canal road in Lahore. He asked Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan as to who was working in support of IS if the IS was not present in Pakistan.
Referring to the news reports and articles published in various newspapers about the links of Jamat-e-Islami with Taliban and other extremist organizations, Mr Jalil said that two of the terrorists killed in a recent drone attack in North Waziristan belonged to the JI. It has become clear that the JI has links with Al-Qaeda, IS and Taliban.
Referring to the statement of former chief of JI Munawer Hassan exhorting the nation to violence and bloodshed, Mr Jalil said it had become evident that the JI was a big threat for the country.
Mr Jalil said that the JI destroyed a youths by exhorting them to take part in the Afghan war in the name of jihad during the cold war in eighties.
Talking about the bomb attack on the MQM membership camp in Orangi Town, Mr Jalil said people across Pakistan were taking keen interest in the MQM membership campaign. Elements afraid of the rising popularity of the MQM carried out the attack on the MQM camp.
Mr Jalil said that the MQM was the only political party that has maintained its mandate in the 2013 general elections despite facing terrorism.
He said that the MQM will continue to inform the nation about the real facts. He said that the government should take action against parties that are supporting extremism and militancy.
Mr Jalil appealed to President Mamnoon Hussain, PM Nawaz Sharif, and COAS General Raheel Sharif to take serious notice of the IS threat and stamp out all those who were extending support to the IS.
Members of the Co-ordination Committee Ahmed Salim Siddiqui, Rashid Godial, Arif Khan Advocate and Abdul Haseeb and associate member Ghazi Salahuddin were also present in the press conference.

MQM Dinner-Reception: Altaf Hussain Hails National Hockey Team

The Founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Mr. Altaf Hussain appealed Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Pak-army create new provinces for the plunderers of nation’s wealth and the servants of the nation, respectively.
Talking to a reception-dinner in honour of National Hockey Team at Lal QIla ground, Azizabad, MQM Chief said that the way army had been fighting against the terrorist menace. Similarly, it should come forward and create new administrative units to enhance governance, because such thing could be done by the feudal lords and corrupt ruling elite.
Secretary Hockey Federation Rana Mujahid, Chief Selector former Olympian Islahuddin, Chief Coach Shahnaz Sheikh, Olympian Shahid Ali Khan, Pakistan Hockey team captain Muhammad Imran, players and other local hockey officials also attended the program. MQM Chief thoroughly, welcomed them at MQM Secretariat and appreciated their role to rectify the soft image of the country through their games.
Talking about the seminary girls of Bajour Agency, who were found, being detained in a small room in Liquatabad, Mr. Hussain said the mothers and elders of Bajour Agency until these girls were not sent back to their homes, they were his and his party’s responsibility. He ensured them, whatsoever, was possible to do for the girls and their families, he and his party would do.
He sternly criticized Sindh government, especially Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for his negligence on the issue. He said that neither CM Sindh bothered to take any notice about the girls’ issue nor his ministers visited the unfortunate girls. He said that government’s indifference should be condemned because it was their responsibility to provide relief to the people.
Mr. Hussain once again reiterated his stance to support the war against terrorism and would offer his party volunteers to fight along with Pak-army against the terrorists’ menace. He said that army had enough capability to fight against ISIS, Taliban and Al-Qaida militants. He also referred the Bajour Agency’s girls and pointed out the negligence of CM Sindh regarding the issue and said that it was need of the time to create new administrative units to rectify the system.
