MQM and PPP emerge victorious in Karachi’s local government elections

MQM-Pakistan won the most seats in Karachi’s local government election, according to unverified and unofficial results.

It won 10 seats, while the PPP won eight. The PTI and ANP won only a single seat each.

Of the 24 local government seats in Karachi, elections were held on 22 on Sunday. The victors of the remaining two seats were declared victorious earlier as there was no one to challenge them in the election.

The PTI won a single seat from Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

تفصیلات کے مطابق سندھ اور خیبرپختونخوا میں ضمنی بلدیاتی انتخابات کے غیر سرکاری غیر حتمی نتائج کے مطابق کراچی میں ایم کیوایم پاکستان آگے ہے جبکہ پیپلز پارٹی دوسرے نمبر پر ہے۔کراچی اور خیرپور میں اپ سیٹ سامنے آیا ہے۔ ملیر اور سابق وزیراعلٰی سندھ کے حلقے میں پیپلزپارٹی کو شکست کا سامنا کرنا پڑا وہاں آزاد امیدواروں نے میدان مار لیا۔

اے آروائے نیوز کے مطابق سندھ اور خیبر پختون خوا میں ہونے والے ضمنی بلدیاتی انتخابات میں غیر سرکاری غیرحتمی نتائج کے مطابق کراچی میں ایم کیوایم پاکستان کی سب زیادہ نشستیں ہیں۔24 نیوز کے مطابق ایم کیوایم نے آٹھ ، پیپلزپارٹی سات سیٹوں کے ساتھ دوسرے نمبر پر ہے۔ پی ٹی آئی، اےاین پی اور آزاد امیدوار نے ایک ایک نشست حاصل کی جبکہ ضلع ملیر میں بڑا اپ سیٹ ہوا۔

What people here wont get is the local bodies is a whole different game. I belong to a politically active family and I have seen how entire villages and city sectors get bought off in one night, and how a single elder can pledge a whole big family or village to one party, in the exchange for some bijli ka khamba, some paani ka kunwa, some bijli ki taar.

People don;t get that the voters who were out for voting PTI into govt were mostly the ones who didn;t use to vote before, and they are least likely to step out for something like a local body election, which is easiest to rig in any ones favor.


You want to see a change happening at the local body level?
Wait for a few years, let the regular voter understand the difference the new government has brought to their life opposed to who they have been voting for.

This also shows if some one wanted to actually rig the shit they could have, and if the previous National Elections were rigged then why would they leave these just like that to expose themselves?

the ones who rigged the general elections were too stupid not to rig these low level elections which are far easier to rig.

PTI dosent has mandate in Karachi, May be in pashtoon populated areas or else pocket of vote bank in city. That “ Tabdeeli “ was a gift in 2018 elections and gifts not given in minor events.
