Guys your opinion on Tissot watches ? I mean overall as company
Tissot is owned by Swatch and is a serviceable watch. What is important in a watch is its movement. You should always go for an automatic with a Swiss movement. Second choice is Japanese movement - Citizen makes excellent movements which are housed in many top watches. Do note the difference between "Swiss Movement" and "Swiss Made" - avoid the later and google the difference. I collect watches. Even if the watch looks great, avoid a Chinese movement. Many brands which are considered semi-premium or premium slap you a watch with a cheap Chinese movement. Those movements will not last long. Don't buy a Quartz. Ever.

@Zarvan

Other options are homage and high grade replica watches with Swiss and Japanese movements. Some of the Chinese cloned movements are solid now.

$300+ replica with Jap Miyota or Swiss ETA movement will be far higher quality than these Armani etc brand watches with less than $5 quartz movements (some cost less than $1!). Yes there is this thing about buying replicas but if you are not brand bothered and want a solid watch that not only looks good but last as well, then they are definitely worth consideration. So so many options! I can send you links of reliable dealers if required and give you some recommendations too? These dealers won't fob you off (warranty for a year too) and delivery to Pakistan (via DHL) is very smooth and quick.

Quartz will die quicker than Automatic, that's a given but inexpensive to replace.

Automatic movements should be fully serviced (strip, clean and oil) every 7yrs or so. If watch is cared for, you can manage without servicing for many more years. Oil and grease used for lubing usually degrades over the years and mainspring weakens so service is then required.

This is Swiss ETA movement that I serviced recently ... very reliable - this particular one is 18yrs old and serviced for the first time! Watch it's from was thoroughly abused (dropped many times etc etc) whereas another cared for watch with another Swiss ETA movement is still keeping good time (that's over 20yrs old now)

Excellent (compared to what were discussing till now)
WAY better than those Armani and Gucci ones and better than Seiko and G-Shock as well.

Tissot is a swiss brand, well known and relatively affordable.

I did suggested you an automatic from them, the Tissot Visodate Heritage in the beginning of this conversation, bhool gy?

Should be 45k to 50k.

If you are happy going with quartz and do not want to spend on automatic, there are SO many options in lower prices in Tissot as well. Should go for these.

What on earth that mean ?

SAri raat laila majnoon ke kahani sunty rahan na subha pochty han laila larki the ya larka!!

Oh bahi,, yehi tu men bta raha hon start say.

There are two main types (not going into details) of watch movement, AUTOMATIC, that is Mechanical that do not takes a battery or cell on other hand the Quartz movement have an electronic oscillator and needs a cell.

Automatic watches are classy. They watch runs on the main spring that wounds AUTOMATICALLY via the natural movement of your hand. (haat mein pahn ka rako tu movement sa kud he wind hoti han n chlti han) In easy words, automatic watches do not need an external power source. This is the most simple, basic and easiest explanation.
