Of course US has all the rights to moan, whine, you are in a position to wipe out global terrorism and on top of that rapidly growing R&D + economy. This is a perfect recipe for sending Amreeka to the ICU..

I dont believe China has only around 300 nukes. Not possible. Chinese arsenal is likely much larger.

Doesn't that contradict Nuclear deterence doctrine? It wouldn't be logical to understate the size of their nuclear arsenal.

You have a point there. China previously had what we call a "minimum deterrence". "Minimum deterrence is an application of deterrence theory in which a state possesses no more nuclear weapons than is necessary to deter an adversary from attacking".

This could be the reason why China is so silent about their nuclear buildup. China feels that they can no longer maintain a minimum deterrence.
