I was in Hong Kong in 1997
For you young Hans, you probably don't have the experience of an ever-changing world. My life experience is different. I stood in Taipei just at the economic takeoff. It is unbelievable the amount of change in Chinese-Taipei over the last 37 years.
More importantly, I was in Hong Kong in 1997 when Britain returned the city-state to China.
Borders that were redrawn against China in the name of imperialism can be undrawn. I've seen it happen. We just need to finish the job.
China's territories:
Reclaimed
Hong Kong: reclaimed from Britain in 1997
Macau: reclaimed from Portugal in 1999
Waiting to be reclaimed
Mongolia: to be reclaimed by 2045 (illegally carved out by Soviets in 1945)
South Tibet and Sikkim: to be reclaimed by 2062 (illegally carved out by Indians in 1962)
