Modi visits England, Hawk trainers and EJ 200 Engines in wishlist

.
looks like a manufactured news as UK alone dosent has any major control over the sales of M777 & EJ200 + F414 seems better bet for AMCA i might be wrong :pop:
Amca? Tejas mk2 is still is design phase...!! Why the hurry? Amca is at least 2 decades away!!

Only downside of EJ 2000 is its expensive compared to F-414, neither its new (F-414 would be only use on Super Hornet & Gripen NG, so less future support & investment from OEM), flexible ToT to significant level, least strings.

So, you select engine after designing plane ?
Nothing learned from whole LCA saga.

no to my knowledge MK2 will be shelved while after a few chnges and modifications in the current airframe and repackaging and adding a few avioniks current LCA will be so called MK2 while ever since MP has come work is been done at breakneck pace with regards to AMCA next year will surprise all those who made fun of LCA & AMCA :coffee:

we have already ordered 99 F414s let them come in sure MOD is not going to put money in two diffrent types opf jet engines of same capacity and class

@GURU DUTT

Sir, are you sure. As far as I know, navy is very enthusiastic about naval lca program. And they need a Tejas with more powerful engines.
I think the Mk2 is on, at least for the navy. And the 99 engines will be used for them.

Naval version is quite near to specs of MK2 and why would ADA/HAL/MOD spend so much time on a totally new platform when it can achieve the same results with a few modifications & putting a more powerfull engine in the current platform :azn:

Every knowledgeable member banged their head when ADA choosed F-414 over EJ-2000 due to simple monetary reason.
Now, when stupid person are in charge who need enemies.
If they chose EJ-200 for LCA MK2 then we don't need begging to US for significant ToT & same engine with improved thrust can be also used in AMCA.
Now, we would assemble F-414 with all imported kit from USA in the name of 'Make in India' & pay Eurojet to the core to supply engine for AMCA & GE simply refused it.

GE has many more programmes running in india now why would they cut the supply anyway money has already changed hands for GE F41s even before this goverment came to power you tell me what should the goverment do though personally many in BJP want to do what you are suggesting :coffee:

So, why they refuse to co-develop engine for AMCA unlike Euro consortium.
Even basic ToT are restricted apart from too much strings attached.
Ranting sweet in press confrence is different thing compared to in practical.
Even they red flag technology for South Korea's KFX Project who are one of the closest partner of USA forget India.

as i said there are many in this goverment who are of a view to reveu and terminate some deals like 414 by the UPA but too much water has passed and its a difficult situation for the new goverment as many in IAF still want GE414 over EJ200 and goverm, ent has to keep them happy too + they cant risk too much right now hope you understand onli ray of light is if somehow GE screws this deal itself then EJ200 just might have a chance :coffee:

UPA & IAF had no stake in these deals as both engines are excellent.
But the problem is EJ-2000 was expensive compared to F-414, so this leads to win contract to GE.
Moron ADA officials .... what can I say to them?

Not all good thing done by NDA & not all bad thing done by UPA.
UPA & IAF have no authority to influence it as it was ADA (DRDO ) Project.

And how lousy A.K. Antony was as defence minister but he was honest, no doubt about it.

.
EJ 200 fits the bill??

I thought EJ 200 can't produce enough thrust required for AMCA and only modified F-414 can come close.

Ej200 is a decent engine for 4+ gen fighter....but for a 5th gen plane? I don't think so....
It would have been a good deal if they bought it for mk2 with crystal blade technology know how....
But now I don't see logic behind this deal!!

Honesty?
Yeah his honesty has cost India a decade of modernisation time and hundreds of billions of dollars loss...if you take inflation into account...
