The sad irony is that today, it is America that is pulling the economic growth engine (though China is still adding the most to global GDP every year).

What happened to the developing world's "growth story" after the Eurozone crisis?

America and Eu nothing against BRIC, both militarily and economically.We just have to strengthen BRIC.

It's better to be realistic. America alone already dominates the world in terms of GDP, military power, diplomatic alliances, and even soft power (media).

Look at America's base GDP. Look at their defence spending, look at their navy. In all cases they are as much as the rest of the world combined. That's why they are the sole superpower.

I'm not interested in predictions of the FAR future, I'm worried about the here and now.

And here is the bad policies of China that we should be careful about, from the same news report:

"Domestic manufacturers in the Rs 1,000-crore industry say that soon after the subsidy was suspended China increased export duty by 17% on glass vacuum tubes, a component that is used to manufacture solar water heaters for residential use and is not available in India. This will increase the price of the Indian solar water heaters further, they say

"Manufacturers have invested a lot in expansion and now we can't compete with the cheaper Chinese units. The existing manufacturers are in trouble, forget about new entrants. There is no 'Make in India' here," said M Ganesh Pai, director of Supreme Solar, which manufactured 40,000 units of solar water heaters in 2013-14. According to an MNRE official, the ministry is aware of the situation. "China has increased duty on tubes and removed all taxes on finished product, making them cheaper. We sent a reminder to the revenue department some time ago asking them not to make the finished product duty free," said the official, who did not wish to be identified."

We must impose certain duties here to offset the undue benefits that Chinese finished products are getting in Indian market, I hope it has been done already. Any idea @SarthakGanguly ?

I agree with you.

After the 2008 Credit crunch and the Eurozone crisis, the "developing countries" are not doing very well.

All the predictions of "double-digit growth rates" are now a distant dream.

I would want to go a step further, we both could resolve our border dispute , if that is resolved then we can grow a bit more peacefully.
The only solution I see is maintaining the current status quo.

We Indians aren't hostile to China , as you Chinese may think of.
Don't know about other Indian brothers but I find East Asian girls cute.

Chinese will remain hostile as long as we have good relations with US
China will reciprocate with Pakistan

China has no moral right to do that. They pretty much do business with the US , whats wrong if we do a little.
And that Pakistan thingy ?
They are doing it for logistical reason , Pakistan is providing them direct passage to Indian Ocean Region , what more they need ?
