But yeah, given Swaraj's previous handling of some vital foreign relation aspects as the leader of the opposition, Always had a good impression of her, Atleast she was more high profile than Jaitley in the subject

By including Sushma swaraj in Big 4 in government despite the acrimony ..Modi has shown his detractors that he is not as vengeful as he is made out to be ...

I call this as a $hit move.

No doubt Modi as DM would be great for the Defence Services currently paralyzed by Antony.

But considering that he is PM and that I personally would have liked his entire energy being devoted to development of the nation and crucial aspects of the economy(infra,rail,etc). MoD could have been given to any competent person other than him.

Infact push comes to shove, I would have liked Modi to retain Rail Ministry with him along with being PM.

If Modi could do that, under 10 years, Indian Rail would have become a multi-billion dollar profitable enterprise and boost industrial growth all over India. It could boost exports massively.

Defence Comes from Economy. If he is successful in revitalizing and making Indian economy an Asian Tiger, Defence sector would have a windfall the likes of which have not been seen till now.
