I noticed through forum input and through news in the media that since Mickey-Mouse Modi took office, some of the most outrageously funny (some brutally absurd) claims have been made by the Ruling govt. in india...be it their PM, his cabinet or his state ministers, activists and other officials

purpose of this thread isn't to troll per se....

This will be an ongoing compilation of quotes, excerpts by individuals of "nationalist" credentials across the border. Do feel free to input as needed. Try not to repeat "isms" that have already been posted. As of late, some of most perplexing seem to be coming out.

To begin:

1.) Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sakshi Maharaj has triggered yet another controversy by saying all Hindu women must produce at least five children in order to protect the future of Hinduism.

2.) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the inauguration of a hospital in Mumbai in October, equated birth of Mahabharata's Karna to genetic engineering. "We all read about Karna in Mahabharata. If we think a little more, we realise that Mahabharata says Karna was not born from his mother's womb. This means that genetic science was present at that time"

3.) Karna could be born outside his mother's womb. That there was plastic surgery in ancient India.

"The magnificent character of Karna from the epic battle of Mahabharat who was not born from his mother’s womb This phenomenon indicated the presence of genetic science in prehistoric India"

4.) “Hum Ganeshji ki pooja karte hain. Koi to plastic surgeon hoga us zamaane mein jisne manushya ke shareer par haathi ka sar rakhkar ke plastic surgery ka prarambh kiya hoga.”

(We worship Lord Ganesh. There must have been some plastic surgeon at that time who got an elephant’s head on the body of a human being and began the practice of plastic surgery.

5.) Indians were flying aeroplanes, carrying out stem cell research and may even have been using cosmic weapons 5,000 years ago,

-Professor Y Sudershan Rao, the head of the Indian Council of Historical Research

6.) "We have so many proofs that these events happened," Rao, 69, said in an interview, describing events in the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, the ancient Hindu epics about love and war, truth and deceit, that feature characters using inextinguishable fire and weapons with the destructive power of a nuclear arsenal.

The world acknowledges India has conducted two sets nuclear tests: in 1974 and 1998. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, BJP MP from Haridwar and former Uttarakhand chief minister, disagrees. "Today we are talking about nuclear tests. Lakhs of years ago, Sage Kanad had conducted a nuclear test. Our knowledge and science do not lack anything,

7.) Promoting cow urine is a priority for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), seen as the BJP's spiritual and ideological guide. It was reported in May that Madhya Pradesh-based promoters of medicines produced using cow urine or 'gau-mutra' hope that a BJP government at the Centre will help their business.

The RSS is keen on promoting a soft drink made from cow's urine, mixed with products such as aloe vera and gooseberry to fight diseases. "Cow urine offers a cure for around 70 to 80 incurable diseases like diabetes. All are curable by cow urine," said Om Prakash, head of the RSS's cow protection department, in 2009.

8.) The last time the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was in power a decade ago it began to rewrite school books in line with Hindu-nationalist orthodoxy.

When the rival Congress party came back to power it rewrote the books again. Academics say the loser in all this are confused, and sometimes ill-informed, school children.

Two Indian states run by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party have recruited controversial Hindu nationalist Dinanath Batra to advise on writing textbooks.

9.) In June 2014 thousands of schools in Gujarat were given textbooks by Batra that claimed cars were invented in ancient India and told children to draw an enlarged nation to include countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

10.) Niranjan Jyoti, an Indian Minister of Food Processing who used a derogatory term to describe non-Hindus during a campaign speech has been allowed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep her job.

[She] told a rally in New Delhi that they had to make a choice between ”a government of the followers of Ram [Hindus] and a government of the followers of bastards,”

Nice compilation. Please tell us the story of human evolution. You may start from Adam and Eve. Waiting to hear from you.

Well what else do you expect from Hindus who worship rats, monkeys etc and marry dogs and banyan trees?

Lets be clear here. This thread isnt to insult religious sentiments. Just a complilation of DUBIOUS (or outright historically false) claims.

"ISMS" is the key here. THe first post of this thread will be regularly updated - when more "ISMS" come to be known

every day they seem to be coming up with new ones....it's comical as it is sad

.
People who believe in either prophets or God should not be the ones mocking claims of people from other religions. Is it the assertion of the author that no true adherent of his faith believes in any miracles connected to his faith or in prophets or God.?....each of them is as absurd or not as the claims compiled to denigrate others (regardless of the meaningless disclaimer)

Now wait for one very righteous moderator to come down and delete your posts for 'religious-flamebait', whilst completely ignoring the OP and his rather poorly-veiled dig at the Hindus.

Drinking Urine is as old as time, the Chinese and Arabs promoted it as well nothing new here

In the Sanskrit Samarangana Sutradhara (Literally, "controller of the battlefield"), it is written:

  • "Strong and durable must the body of the Vimana be made, like a great flying bird of light material. Inside one must put the mercury engine with its iron heating apparatus underneath. By means of the power latent in the mercury which sets the driving whirlwind in motion, a man sitting inside may travel a great distance in the sky. The movements of the Vimana are such that it can vertically ascend, vertically descend, move slanting forwards and backwards. With the help of the machines human beings can fly in the air and heavenly beings can come down to earth."

. .
How do we know Aliens as well call them do not exist? in Hinduism it says earth = material world there are higher planets you can be born into called spiritual worlds where more advanced beings live.

I am not a communalists. PM me if your religious sentiments are hurt, ill remove any line from the list

@Abu Zolfiqar: I agree with you on the purpose of this thread....... There are few stupid comments made by BJP leaders in last few months..... Some time it sounds very stupid..... But then morons are there in every society, and we have our share.... the only thing here is they have become active after modi coming to power.

But you know what? To prove your point, You have used few religious interpretations..... which was uncalled for........ Every religion is interpreted by individuals , and the problem what today we all face is because of certain wrong interpretation.....(Btw i am not saying the point made in OP is right or wrong)....

If you really wanted to discuss the issue, then i suggest you remove those points (religious interpretations) and add few more stupid statements.... There are no shortage of them.....Otherwise this thread will head is going to be a troll fest....
