Veer Savarkar was the only one who mourned Bhagat Singh.

In March 1940 in London, Udham Singh shot and killed Sir Michael Odwyer, responsible for the Jalianwala Bagh massacre. And who praised him in India ? Only Savarkar.

All the Congress leaders condemned the brave Udham Singh. At the time of Jalianwala Bagh massacre (April 1919), Gandhi did not even go to Amritsar and advised the Congress enquiry committee not to ask for the trial of General Dyer.

Another scholarly work by Veer Savarkar, Six Glorious Epochs of Indian History. It has more than a 1000 References which will vouch for its authenticity.

When a fantasy history book like "discovery of India" finds and important place in our works because it was written by "pandit" Nehru, while a scholarly work like this which was banned by the British is ignored because a Hindu wrote it.

I read this book ..it literally put fire inside you...

Its funny how Nehru and Gandhi who divided India for religious reasons, is considered "secular" , while Veer Savarkar who fought against partition is considered "communal". :coffee:

On February 10, 1949 Savarkar was acquitted, but not allowed to walk out free in Delhi. The Delhi Magistrate served an order prohibiting Savarkar from leaving the Red Fort area immediately. A few hours later by another order under Punjab Public Security Measures Act, Savarkar was expelled from Delhi and escorted by police straight to Savarkar Sadan, Mumbai. Additionally, he was prohibited from entering the Delhi area for a period of three months.

Worse, his honor was not reinstated.

Savarkar, the veteran of fifty years of service in the freedom movement of India, was imprisoned one more time in free India at age sixty-seven—onApril 4, 1950, he was arrested on the eve of arrival of Pakistani Prime Minister Liaquat Ali in Delhiand detained in Belgaum jail for 100 days.

Nehru, who admitted to his friend and biographer Mosley, that perhaps they had conceded Pakistan from fear of going to jail in their old age, imprisoned Savarkar twice, on unjust charges, without any compunction whatsoever.

This is how India treats its heroes.

Savarkar has been deliberately maligned, misrepresented, and misunderstood. History of the Congress—in its edited and doctored form—was represented as the history of the Indian freedom movement; Savarkar was all but deleted from it. Anyone daring to stand up for him had to suffer Governmental consequences.

we have the luxury of education and critical thinking .... I think sawarkar would be glad to have a few gutsy admirers rather an army of eunuchs.

Veer Savarkar presided over a Yajnopaveetam ceremony for former Hindu untouchables (Dalits) in 1929 at Malwan.

One of the trained Dalit (now a Brahmin) was selected as a priest for the famous Patit Pavan Mandir in Ratnagiri.
