No. It was closed to our shores

I hope our 8 Hangor Class have the capability to launch SLBMs. Wish we could get Destroyers with HHQ 9s and replace our old P3Cs with new capable LRMPAs

Well the defense book told about indegenious development of Super Sonic Cruise Missile
Bro they are NOT hangout they are Type 039A yuan class

Hangor class are not SSBN, its a SSG conventional subs equipped with anti ship cruise missiles and sub launched land attack cruise missiles and conventional subs can't able to carry SLBMs if they does it will be no more then 2-3 SLBMs which is useless and we don't need SLBM because our enemy is in our next door, imagine this in case of war Hangor class patrolling near gawadar and attack with long range anti ship missiles like C-802/C-803 with a range of 280-250 km respective at IN ships in North Arabian sea and attack land targets with Babur-3 and remain out of range from the sensors of IN ships, think about it

We just need torpedos with 50+km range
we already have German Torpedo with a range of 50+ km it on our Khalid class subs

Agosta 90b was a very capable sub of it time but with the arrival of new tech these subs were lagging behind. The package was offered by turkey and France to upgrade the sub. Pakistan chose the Turkish package at cost of $350 million. Now this price tag is a little short of new sub price this means a lot have been replaced in this sub. If you look at few details mentioned in the op they are doing software upgrade. Now most info which would have been of secret nature is not included in this article but can you install windows 10 on pentium 4 computer? No you cannot so it means all electronic systems have been modernized. It is a totally different submarine

It really is a new sub in the same shell.
Details are not available.

Are C 802/803 sub Launched too? Babur 3 has just 450km range. Our Sub will need to get close to their shore to launch Babur 3. India has P8Is

Yes the have sub launch versions and Pakistan coastline is 1000 km/600 miles and babur 3 is for targeting Indian ports and. Other coastal installations for targets deep inside India we have land based babur and RAAD as well as BMs

Endurance of nuc. sub is 1 month. After that crew runs out of supplys. Meanwhile API has endurance of 3 weeks. Nucn subs have large heat signature which makes them easy to detect. Nucleur subs are used in open seas where they go out and just sit there. We dont have that much sea territory nor we will send them into open sea. If you want nucleur deterrence you can store nucleur missiles in conventional subs.

Conventional subs are also less noisy, more stealthy and more manoeuvrable. The flip side is that their missions are usually littoral (along the coast), which puts them in the reach of the enemy's ASW assets. If we can equip our subs with long-range SLCM (or even SLBM in the case of Chinese subs) with a range of 1000km+ I believe we would have assured second-strike deterrent effect against Indian coastal cities, but generally not beyond that. For this, the subs should have dedicated nuke missile launch tubes so their torpedo tubes remain available for self-defence. We also need to take in consideration that once the sub is sent on a nuclear deterrence patrol it would not be conducting any conventional missions in order to keep its location secret. In the India-Pakistan context, conventional submarine warfare would play an essential role early on so we need some subs to remain on the conventional mission. The plan for 8 Chinese subs over previously desired 4 German U214 is more economical in this regard. X-number of the Chinese origin subs could be allocated conventional role alongside Agosta-90B. Remaining could be sent on deterrent patrol.

For crying out loud stop ruining every thread with your fantasies.

Pakistan just getting ordinary diesel electric subs capable of launching Torpedoes and Cruise missiles. Any thing else is just a piece of horse shit.

We are not getting any nuclear powered subs.
We are not getting hangoor class in SLBM role. Not in a million years we will equip our subs with submarine launched ballistic missiles.
We are not getting any Turkish or german or french or any used chinese subs.

Seriously nowadays PDF with some new member is turning into shit fest.

But Pakistan should not only get a star destroyer, but should also sell it to friendly countries like sri lanka...Lets all have some semblance of reality. Its all well and good to have wishlists and play fan boy, God knows we all do it, BUT we cant do it ALL THE TIME IN EVERY THREAD. Sometimes what is being acquired is exactly what is on paper. And that is not a bad thing. These are bringing numbers and capabilities that we were all fanboying about 15 years ago when Babur first launched, so be happy with what you have and plan for the future. This is the exact BS people were doing about JFT and were disappointed when it looked regular single seater.

Exactly people who plan our defense requirement are experts and have to take costs and international geopolitical fallout in our consideration as well. For example when we tested Naval Variants of babur incl submarine launched a lot of our companies tasked with naval weapons development were sanctioned by US. People forget that it is not just india and US who are vary of our weapon developments but also iranis saudis and almost every country within the range of our nukes.

A thing I was never able to understand. These subs were offered with ToT and even manufactured in Pakistan.
Why did Pakistan didn't manufacture any more of these? to add more balance in PN's favor in regards to Indian navy. With ToT the newly produced subs could even be further developed as needed to increase lethality.

The 'ToT' is often limited to constructing ships using OEM-supplied material kits. In other words, the steel, engines and other critical components all have to come from France. KSEW cuts the steel and constructs it, but it needs to rely on Naval Group/DCNS to provide the inputs. In all likelihood, DCNS isn't offering those inputs, or they're now too expensive. So the PN is now doing the same thing through China.

The first step to breaking this pattern is owning the design of the ship and empowering KSEW to engage core input suppliers directly. This way, it can keep constructing additional vessels, albeit with imported engines, steel, etc. But it can choose its suppliers, and in turn, control cost. This is what it's doing with the MILGEM from Turkey.

One of the greatest failing is that after 30 years of experience with submarines, we are unable to design and build our own.

Designing & building a modern submarine ‘Ab initio’ is no joke and needs a much higher technical skill level than what is available in the Pakistan of today.

My cousins who are active farmers in Sargodha tell me that nearly all the tractors ‘Manufactured’ in Pakistan are in fact imported in ‘CKD’ condition and assembled locally. Why not start with something much simpler; for example tractors, cars & trucks?
