Psychologists would say that Pakistanis may be skewed towards ego defense mechanisms that are neurotic (female) and immature (men) (see Ego defense mechanisms in Pakistani medical students: a cross sectional analysis.) However, that doesn't mean the effort at direct dialogue shouldn't be attempted, or that the results would be useless.

An outside moderator (not mediator) may be useful if you don't think Pakistani "brains" suffice. But in my experience the Pakistanis I've met are very intelligent so it's a matter of training, not brains.

I used that term of brainlessness to irritate those who humiliated me here on this fourm when I first opposed the govt.and Sc court verdict,and mall handling of this all matter, it is very right to have a fact finding committee comprising of educated well reputed religious peoples to find fact if such religious matters occur ,even mufties from foreign Muslim countries should be consulted, porblem arises when extreme eggostic people's jump in non relevant matters and take the shelter of constitution, on that people in massas start believing that some foreign hand is behind this ,so they start violence, Infact it's states responsibility to make people BELIEVE that states is loyal to her people and belief, a nation whose two generations are groomed in a fundamental Islamic teachings as per the national and international requirements ,can't be turned moderate by threats and in days, this what needed to understand by those brainless peoples,

Why is it necessary to assume the mullahs are stupid or hypocritical? Can't we take it at face value that in their judgment their religion demands they exercise authority to decide who lives and who dies and whether or not Pakistan's economy is allowed to function?

Unfortunately these mullahs always misuse religion for their own benefits. In Islam Innocent can't be killed infect in Islamic teaching you have to stand with truth no matter if you are against your own relative.
Mullahs should let Judges face their deeds on the day of judgement but they are themselves becoming a God.
Those so called saviour of religion(mullahs) provoke people.

"Always" is way too sweeping, you should allow some good-faith benefit of doubt as to motive, at least until true dialogue between government and mullah can remove it, as I mentioned earlier in this thread.

I'm not sure what exactly the TLP did due to the news blackout but it appears to have been thieving, property destruction, and impeding traffic, not murder. I've read some Pakistani writers who say the gov't backed down because they would have had to kill the protesters but that ignores the fact that at least several municipalities (like Lahore) have water cannons that could have cleared the roads of protesters as well as extinguished their fires.
