Military Analysis: Face Bangladesh Army At Your Own Risk

The million dollar question is still there, why will India like to occupy BD? BD has no oil, BD has no uranium etc. In case of war with China, BD's ports if they were offering support to Chinese warship will be put out of commission pretty fast with missile and air attacks.

There is no reason for India to invade today.

However things can always change in the future as unlikely as it may seem today.

.
Furthermore, invasion is the ultimate in hostility.

There are other hostile acts that a state may take way before it ever gets to an invasion/occupation.

Its not the invasion I am questioning, it is the occupation that I am questioning. Invasion can be tactical but occupation is strategic. India has nothing strategic to gain by capturing BD and strategic goals move much slowly even in today's fast paced world.

Infact if you look at the recent developments of Modi solving the massive enclave exclave clusterfuck that Indo-BD border is, it seems India's strategic goal is to have a well defined and stable boundary with BD, something that can be sealed against infiltration and illegal immigration. BD is our Mexico.

Guys don't reply or tag trolls.

Especially false-flagger trolls spewing obvious Bangladesh-destruction/domination theories taught at RSS Sangh Shakhas. ;)

Yup everything will fall like dominoes and flatten like pancakes. Thanks for your input. :)
bangladesh has an airforce that can be knocked out within hours of conflict and a very limited SAM capailities,

.
That being said, I think if and only if the economy continues to improve, BD can drastically improve its military capabilities.

I would assume the objective would be:

A sembelenace of deterence for India.

An ability to succefully engage any hostile activity by Myanmar.

Protection of the EEZ.

A small modern military with improved training would be able to fulfill that especially combined with the inherent jungle characteristics of the Bangladesh landscape which would probably be beneficial in defending the homeland in case of invasion.

The above is just the most general of rationals for a sovereign nation such as Bangladesh for maintaining a military.
bruh don't start again.... yes we should have a deterrence but not solely reserved for india... neighboring states is a better term...

btw.... forces goal 2030 mentions of attaining capability to deploy anywhere in the world within 12 hours and anywhere in surrounding region within 4.... can someone elaborate this please.

what about countering the theory of strings of pearls.... ?

wrong wrong and wrong...
there is uranium in bd which was discovered in pakistan era... interest on extracting is rising up in recent times...
there is oil too in bd... but not being extracted because lacking effective technology ourselves and other countries are trying to rip us.
BD won't let another country set up a military base in bangladesh no matter what... the people simply doesn;t allow for that...
if you were a bangladeshi you would know of american interest and request to set up military base in chittagong and also harboring base for the aircraft carrier... you don't know how much "hungama" was there by the media and the general public.

True..there are more chances of you and me dying of a terrorists bullet than dying of a Bangladeshis or Indian soldiers bullet.

Its sad the entire world has become so unsafe.
in my case it just might be the russians... unless they won;t hurt a foreigner in ukraine.

.
Guys please don't reply to obvious trolls making pointless comments. Waste of time and bandwidth. Serious discussion is a different matter. Also - use the 'ignore' button as well at your discretion.....

By conquering BD? A better idea will to fan terrorism in BD especially targeting those assets that China is building. Even better will be to influence elections in BD and get a government that throws Chinese out.

Even in case of war those ports etc could still be gone by missile attacks and air bombing. No need to put our forces there.

We can get all the uranium from Australia thanks to the NSG-wavier. We can get all the oil we want from Iran. Compared to the nightmare of running the most densely populated country with floods all around, it will be a breeze.

LOL. What are you smoking. Having capability to deploy worldwide? Perhaps in a UN peakeeping role.

Certainly not in the capacity of Bangladesh armed forces.

You guys keep over estimating Bangladesh at every turn.

This is why you have this army of trolls in here feeding on this.

This is all quite laughable. Neither of your neighbours intend to conquer Bangladesh. It is the complete opposite.

The most densely populated country in the world (non-city-state) with 200million inhabitants in one of the most climate change sensitive corners of the world has absolutely no advantage in conquering. The key is to keep you people (who are mostly illiterate, malnourished and offer absolutely nothing of any worth) in your dying flood plain without infecting your neighbours. Unfortunately, this cannot always be done humanely.

None of those is going to happen. What will happen is that we would be compelled to allow PLAAF and PLAN to establish bases on our soil. I fact, PLAN has been wanting to place a nuclear sub here. Why not? That should shut the Indian bully's trap.

.
Indian Army did not arrive on the scene (crossed the border) before say 24 November 1971. Prior to that it was a proxy war using the Muktis armed by India and a war of attrition (very frequent ambushes on traveling PA troops, bridges/culverts/power-stations/logistical points blown up).

You are quiet wrong over here it is well known that the indians had started attacking east Pakistan positions by march to weaken our forces and create trouble or to infiltrate mukti bahni's into East Pakistan.

Yeah yeah sure! If that was possible, it would have been done by now. China has better place to keep her subs, that is SL. BD is simply not 'worth it'.

you are not our neighbour. 271 km border doesn't mean we are neighbours. Best to mind your own business.
