Militants burn village in Lower Orakzai

KOHAT: Militants set on fire an entire village in Feroze Khel area of Lower Orakzai on Monday.

According to officials, armed men of the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan raided the village of Tori Mela and set on fire 63 houses which had been lying vacant for about a month because most tribesmen had moved to other areas, leaving behind one or two members of their families to take care of their belongings.

The TTP men asked these people to leave their houses and then set out on the arson spree.

Local people said the Tehrik-i-Taliban had ‘punished’ tribesmen because of their refusal to stay on in the village and support them in their fight against security forces.

The families had moved to Hangu and Kohat, fearing that the TTP might use them as human shields and to protect themselves during shellings and bombings by helicopter gunships and planes.

Maybe they don't want any support. It seems like their aim is just to create havoc in Pakistan, which they are doing almost every day. If they are what we think they are, working as per Indian, US and Israeli agenda then I don't think they require any support from the locals for their objective of destablizing Pakistan.

Not the best idea to leave your populace at the mercy of these terrorists. It does not take long for the law of the present rulers to become the law of the land.

Same thing happened in Afganistan. Did the taliban not commit atrocities on people there?? Oh yes sir, they did, but over the years, irrespective of what the taliban did, still their twisted idea of a society became the law in Afganistan to the day when Nato went in and the brave fighters of taliban scampered for their lives in to Pakistan.

So better fight to salvage everything. By looking the other way, the taliban will not vanish.

I agree with you that such events will turn the public opinion against them, but only as long the people have hope that your army is committed to their cause in a beneficial and sustainable manner. So fight to make sure that they see hope in you..... because else depression is more contagious and dangerous...

Whatever these taliban militia is doing is simply aweful.Whenever they do something( and whatever they do,it is always destructive,leading to loss of precious human life and property),the primary focus of the common people irrespective of their country doesnt remain upon their demands,rather upon the atrocities they commit.In the history of human civilisation, whenever there has been a movement against a well-established ruling system for the sake of change(irrespective of the type of change),it has never been successfully achieved without "People's support".Whether it is French revolution, Bolshevik revolution,Chinese revolution,Vietnamese revolution--never it has been accomplished without the active support of common men and women.

If the blood-thirsty Taliban militia think that they can earn people's active support by killing some innocent people who may have gone to the market or by blowing up schools where young children go to study,then I must say,they cannot be anymore mistaken.No civilized society in the world will tolerate mass-murderers as the future leaders of the state,as long as the fabric of civilized society remains intact.If they really have to say something,or make a point they must try to chalk out a peaceful plan that doesnt involve their kalashnikovs and suicide bombs.

These people have no cause. They simply want to take over a part or the entire of Pakistan. On what basis they claim their authority is mind boggling. In effect they want to return Pakistan to the stone age where tribal chiefs are born to rule. They are an insult to Islam and the Prophet of God, an insult to Pakistan and an insult to humanity. Like wild savages they destroy and mutilate what takes people dozens of years to build. I pray that the Pakistani army mercilessly removes them from the soil of this earth.
