It is bleak and many of the original churches of Christian Orthodoxy are being desecrated, destroyed. Churches that were founded as early as 2nd, 3rd century AD. It is not a safe time to visit the Holy Land , my friend. One of the greatest travesties of this war is that Christians can no longer conduct Pilgrimage. For me, and for some 1.2 billion Catholics and some 800 million Protestants, and some 300 million who belong to Eastern Orthodoxy (combined some 2.3 Billion Christians), we are prevented to visiting the Holy Places because of the war there.

It’s not ethnically cleansing when both of them belong to the same ethnic group and the main reason for the percentage drop for Christians in the Middle East is down to their lower birth rate compared to the really high birth rate of the Muslim population.

They left Iraq and Syria down to the security situation just like thousands of Muslim Syrians and Iraqis that have left. Of course that’s not saying there hasn't been any discrimination against Christians, but your acting like their has been a mass genocide of Christians in the Middle East. When the reason for them leaving tend to be the same as their fellow countrymen that happen to be Muslim that have also left.

Most of remaining West European Jews were shipped to Palestine accomplishing what Hitler started. Palestinians did not participate in this Christian genocide of European Jews in Europe yet they were forced to give up their lands.
