Microsoft wins $22 billion deal making headsets for US Army

Word on the street is that Microsoft is involved in the above top-secret warp capability program

Huawei violated patent laws, and had was hammered into submission due to patent infringement

But that was not the legal justification used, as extraterritorial tech embargo is not a legal consequence for IP infringement under US law. In addition, Huawei was deprived of due process under the US constitution, as it was not convicted and sentenced to a tech embargo in a US federal or international court but rather subject to unilateral sanctions via the executive branch, a gross overreach and violation of the separation of powers.

I have an iMac(after being a Windows user for decades) and use built in software called Bootcamp to also install Windows which I use to play games.

To be honest, Macs are generally better than Windows for pretty much everything apart from games. They just work, whereas you need to a spend quite a lot of time to maintain Windows to allow it to work efficiently.

Macs are pretty bulletproof. No bluescreen bootup, driver issues, config issues,, startup program issues, or virus problems. They just work. Period.

I have both a Windows 10 laptop and a MacBook Pro. I bounce between both.

The kids and the wife have MacBook Airs...as I don't feel like wasting an afternoon trying to solve issues. Which is probably the reason they are popular.

Care to explain further? I have always heard this from ppl...but in my personal experience...I have always used windows since I was a child...and I have never had any issues.

I've used it for things like(hobby) photoshop, illustrator, 3D studio max, flash/dreamweaver(way back before they were bought by adobe), and web design(long before wordpress was a thing).

I've used it for programming(back when computer science was my major before I ended up switching) for multiple languages. Then at a later point after college...while working I used it to develop a MS Access based database(leveraging SQL and VBA).

...and of course I've used it for gaming throughout my life...various different ones from low end to high end stuff.

So between all of these different things...I never encountered any issues whatsoever. The only issues every now and then that popped up...was when custom building my PCs...but those were rare...and once solved...didn't bother me again.

Ah you missed the blue-screen-of-death days...and safeboot..oh the pain..the pain.

$22 billions for the headset so if you investigate 700 billion defense budget it will cover headset, gloves, tiger skin shoes, memory foam mattresses and goose feather pillows.

I think it generally comes down to personal preference. I use both and I can comfortably say both are equally good and have very different purposes. Just like the Android vs IOS debate. Windows are known for their notorious windows updates, drivers and other stuff but they are much more versatile than MAC. I mean you can literally find a program for anything you can think of. While Macs are much more stable but you can't find open-source freeware, because it is meant to be like that.

Moreover, once you run into an issue with MAC there isn't much information available/ fixes available (obviously because less people use them compared to windows). While Windows get broken more often so there are more fixes available for almost every issue.

Both are good, it just comes down to what you are more comfortable with and the type of Job you are doing.

Yes Windows does have more software available but my reference was for the average user and in that case, it is mainly irrelevant as MAC has pretty much everything most people would require.
If you want the best software selection, then of course Windows is better but to get something to just "work" with as little effort as possible, then MACs are the computers of choice.

I disagree that there is little support for MACs when there is an issue as Apple are always there with support if you ever run into an issue. With Windows, it is hit and miss the level of technical support you can get from the vendor. Some like Dell can be pretty good but as always with Windows PCs, sometimes you get thrown back and forth between the vendor and Microsoft in order to resolve your issue. With MACs, there is only Apple you need to deal with.

The other big advantage with a MAC, is that Apple makes it easy via BootCamp to install Windows as a separate OS and so you end up getting the best of both worlds. I am writing this post on MacOS on my iMac but could just have easily booted into Windows on my iMAC and have written this post in Windows.

To be fair on Microsoft, Windows 10 is a pretty good and stable operating system these days.

Compared to maybe when it first came out over 5 years ago, Windows 10 BSOD's less often than it did and I think that in many ways Windows 10 and MacOS are as good as each other for what they were built for.

Apple programmers have a much easier time as they pretty much know what they are developing for as Apple makes all MACs and there is a limited range as well. Microsoft programmers have a much harder task since Windows OS is licensed to the whole world as anyone can buy a copy, get the parts and make one of many thousands of combinations of PCs from them.

So you don't care about democracy and rule of law?

Huawei is no more? Tell it to Huawei having a record revenue year. Huawei now has revenue equal to 1/2 of Pakistan GDP.
