If you look at their statement, it just didn't make sense at all.

The aircraft is ALMOST crossed into Russia Air Traffic Control zone, which mean if any Ukrainian missile have to strike the aircraft, it will come with a West to East direction, and that would hit the aircraft in the tail or fuselage instead of its cockpit.

The only way Ukrainian could have done this is to tow/drive a BUK launcher to either inside rebel held zone or within Russia to shoot it down. Which simply does not make sense.

I believe it was never meant to make sense, it is their policy of stonewalling and denial - throwing a theory that doesn't make sense over another theory that doesn't make sense over yet another theory that doesn't make sense. And in end claiming that Russian "evidence" wasn't properly investigated.

Earlier they claimed that it was intercepted by a Ukrainian Su-25. Except that Su-25 couldn't even climb half that altitude. So their bunch of clowns tried to change the flight ceiling figures of Su-25 all over wikipedias, online guides, e.t.c. The manufacturer, Sukhoi, even removed the flight ceiling figures for Su-25 from their official website.

The missile was built in 1986. It is highly unlikely it was from Russia army since they don't have missiles that old by 2014. They have far newer Buk versions.

The missile was either from a Ukrainian arms depot captured by rebels or rebels bought it on black market in Russia from a storage depot and smuggled it across the border.

Regardless of who shot it down, let this be a lesson for airlines. Never fly over an active war zone without having its transponder turned on.

When You find the very special BUK SHRAPNEL in the pilots body it is reason to suspect a BUK.
When You find that the missile was fired from Rebel controlled territory, you have reason to suspect the rebels. Since the rebels are filled with Russian soldiers ”on leave” and the BUK is not something produced by rebels what do you get.

Ukraine was part of Tsarist Russian Empire back in 1764. Strange fact, Russian empire had also annexed Crimea in 1783 and complete the Novorussiya "conquest" that started in early 1700. And Russian Federation did the same in 2014....

Actually, under ICAO guideline, the country that take charge of the investigation is the country where this incident happened in, which is Ukraine. Then if that country refuse or do not have enough resource to conduct the investigation, the responsibility would goes to the majority of victims, and then next is aircraft manufacturer, and finally country of registration of the plane.

This is distributed so the country have the most stake on the line will lead the investigation. I mean you cannot blame Malaysia for the air-crash unless it's their own negligent that cause it (like skipping on maintenance) and in this case, Malaysia was absorbed from all the responsibility (hence it is not Malaysian Airline fault) the plane crashed. Hence their role in the investigation would be very limited.
