What's new

Maxxpro MRAPs of Pakistan Army.

198 million of dollars for a second hand vehicles? That deal is a clear reap off. Especially if you have in mind that US doesn't know what to do with all those MRAPs. They recently donated 212 of them to Croatia:

The US government decided to donate 212 MRAP vehicles, which include 162 MRAP M-ATV combat terrain vehicles, 29 MRAP HAGA vehicles for medical purposes and 30 MaxxPro vehicles.

It is in their interest to find operators for these vehicles, so they could at least return some money trough selling of spare parts, maintenance, personnel training... Those are good battle tested vehicles, but the price is too much.

U think Pakistan will BUY second hand material and give away 198 million when we have a friend like China? "Clear Reap off" Were you sitting in the deal. They are 13000 MRAPs in Afghanistan. And Pakistan is buying 160 New Navistar MRAPs. Plz search first then talk.

From the first page of this topic:

The 160 vehicles, all of which would be the MaxxPro MRAP variant made by U.S. manufacturer Navistar, would be a mix of new builds and some from U.S. Army prepositioned stocks in Kuwait, according to a person familiar with the negotiations who is not authorized to speak for attribution.

We bought two dozen Buffalo MRAPs...than we've seen Casper MRAPs ... The HIT's fugly MRAP and now Max Pros...

Anyways excellent news ... It would save a lot of lives ... (IED's are the biggest cause of Pak casualties)..

Im not losing hope on Burraq. Maxxpro will actually feed into its design development in the long term.

We are already developing lot off things and in current budget they are lot off things
everything cant be built it needs time and resources. secondly a well proven platform is there for the taking
@AUz do consider our work in the Navy, the JF 17s and Al Khalid tank. its not pathetic.
its about best allocation of resources that are always finite.
our own system would never come even close to what these proven platforms can offer. we need to become economic and industrial giant before manufacturing every single thing our selves that we want.

Well the biggest danger is that these vehicles could fall in hand of ISIS if they expand into Afghanistan so the sooner Pakistan Army can take control over the assets the best it is for regional security.

All the military hardware in Afghanistan should be confiscated by Pakistan Army otherwise we could face situation like that is taking place now in Syria and Iraq border

I just don't understand how our Military could stand and watch all the ammo and weapons stash just sitting around waiting for ISIS or other groups to get their hands on , its the most urgent matter of national security obviously

I mean who lets stash full of ammo and cars , jeeps and tanks just standing in backyard
LOL

you are giving Northern Alliance and their Indian partners a big heart attack
why do you want the Northern Alliance warlords the chance to cannibalize each other and start the infighting once the Americans leave?

Finally some weapons we can practically use for our defence in live battlefield instead of deterrent weapons for a supposed future war :p:

But yes as members are pointing out, Taliban IS and other groups are a big concern for Pakistan and all other regional countries.
And ANA is a joke. That thug and warloard lump will join hands with any force potent enough to overtake them after NATO and US withdrawl.
This region is getting funny. every one is friend and enemy of everyone at the same time.
US should sale them to Pakistan and other allies or take them back.
To be very honest i believe countries like Iraq Nigeria Lybia Sudan need such systems more then Pakistan, we can somehow manage our security. But pity they cannot afford its maintainance financially or operationally

HIT has already published a brochure for Burraq .. Hopefully we will see it at ideas 14.

Please post picture of Burraq

Yara it's a myth These MRAP's can withstand IED's. Tests showed they can withstand mines having 8-10 KG explosives. TTP IED's are typically in the range of 20 or above KG.

But it would be beneficial in those scenarios when convoys are passing through mountainous terrains of Balochistan or FATA and an ambush occur. 12.7mm, 7.62mm, 5.56mm RPG's, it can withstand and escape the scene without single loss of life.

Not like that we have open roof pickups and our soldiers become easy mear for them
