Waziristan tribes have a misplaced sense of entitlement/superiority, and that is the root cause of all problems. Waziristan people have never experienced the imposition of any form of central rule, they are averse to any form of modern government/rule of law. Wish he had done what Musharraf was forced to do ultimately, a hundred years later. The state of Pakistan had no intention of interfering in Waziristan had Waziristan not started exporting problems/terrorism to other regions.

Waziristan has a complicated history. Da Waziristan haqeeqat yawazey pashtana peezny.

Situation of Pakistan was at its worst in late to early 2000's. We have rooted out a lot of these terrorists. However, like every ongoing IBO and operation there will be losses and casualties. That's not to deny Pakistan army's work or the suffering of the average Waziriyan, but you can talk about both as these are nuanced issues.

How are you gonna use air-strikes against a one off IED attack? come on bruh. What needs to happen is make a dialogue with these villagers and than recruit these same ambushers into the Pak armed forces and let them patrol that same area voila everything solved..

Then give Waziristan to the talibunnies in Afghanistan for all I care. We can do an exchange for the Wahkand corridor with the talibunnies.

If the waziristani people support the likes of TTP/PLM then let them live under them without a cent of Pakistani tax money and without a single pakistani soldier dying for these ungrateful people. Modern societies and nation states don't work that way. A Mesud/Waziri state within the state of Pakistan is not acceptable. They are not entitled to any privileges that other citizens of Pakistan lack.

You can blame Musharraf all you like, but he did the right thing by denying the Americans a pretext for attack (on Pakistan).

Those who are saying that we can not go on full offensive against the TTP and their likes, let me remind you two examples from 2 greatest man who ever walk the earth...

1) When Mosa AS went to mount Tor to receive the 10 Commandments, his people started worshiping a Golden Cow when he returns and saw that, he order a mass execution of people.
2) When 3 Jewish Tribes betrayed Rasool Allah in Medina during battle of Trench, he exile them first but when the last banu Qureza did the same, we all know what happens next, although the decision was made by consensus and from the help of a former Jewish man, but there was a mass punishment where hundreds of men from their tribe was executed to remove the threat.

Now tell me who wants to take lead over these two Prophets by claiming that they are better Human rights activists than Mosa and Muhammad PBUH to both? if they can do it and we are their followers so why can't our army go on a full on offensive in Waziristan ? MQM despite its political party was involved in killings and contacts with India, but Wazirsitanis are doing everything including harboring TTP and facilitating them, I keep saying this that if it was Muhajir or Urdu Speakers, our Army would've rolled Tanks over residential areas by killing women and children, but as they are Pashtoon and we have many Pashtoon serving in the army, I think Army is scared that if they go on a offensive there will be a mutiny in the Army, What a shame and unfortunately nothing will change in Pakistan, say Goodbye to CPEC, say Goodbye to foreign tourists because wait and watch, soon TTP will attack those foreign tourists probably kidnap them with of course help from PTM/Locals/Indians.

Our Top Generals will only condemn the attacks but won't bring their bellies out of the lavish Offices and millions dollar houses, Jab Army ke Generals Araam Talb aur Duniya ki Ranginiyun mai pard jayen tu tu woh bekaar ho jate hai, I can bet that if you do blood test on Generals, 80% of them would turn out to be alcoholics and drink, almost all of the Generals have their kids in America so their kids are save but they watch someone else kids die but sano ki ? bagairat log , bagairat Fauj , Bagairat awaam no wonder Allah has send these Leaders both Political and Military and impose on us Pakistani's as Azaab.

Very roughly :

1. how many rank levels down is the lt or captain leading such a patrol?

2. how many lts or captians are there in PA? does the COAS know them all by name and pass orders or control ops directly

3. How many Active duty personnel does a COAS directly control down to their training, morale and equipment for that exact mission?

4. How many inputs go into planning such a mission and the general gathering/accuracy?

I just want to understand the direct connection between these deaths and the ratio of comments on the COAS or PM(not that he isn’t immune to critique ) being directly responsible.

That being said - Montgomery did El Alamein, Mareth, Overlord but Market Garden kept haunting his legacy.

Unfortunately for the current COAS, his “failures” are being documented and the disasters by other previous COAS leadership circle during the early ops or going further into how the entire PAF war plan in 65 was essentially botched is never the big game.

Such is history and judgement.
