He is right. Maoists are not terrorists. They do not target civilians. So who exactly are they terrorizing? A terrorist is someone who targets civilians deliberately, in a bid to terrorize a civilian population. - Like 26/11, Kashmir, etc. Attacking security forces for political gain is not terrorism.

When innocent tribals are randomly killed after being labelled as police informers..u still dont get to realise that this is not terrorism.

and please explain how this is vote bank politics? Whose vote will does he expect to win after uttering such a statement? The Tribals? So i guess, you all agree that the Naxals have significant support among the tribals, and are not just supporting them because they are terrorized?

Vote bank politics in the sense that these Maoists vote for that particular party in the local elections.Case in point - Mamata Bannerjee.

PS - people, stop comparing TTP to the Maoists in India. Completely different entities.

No. Because I think Green Hunt is not enough. Govt is playing kabadi in the name of Green Hunt. Maoist deserve proper test of the power of India. My points,

1) We need more coordinated forces with more experiences in jungle warfare. Track their roots/heads and hit them hard, all of them are sitting comfortably in Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad and other towns. They are the real culprits. When ever police finds some political connections with Maoists, those betrayers should be encountered before that political party 'politicize' the arrest. These political supporters of Maoists are more dangerous than Maoists.

2) Increase the number of elite forces. AP police's Grey Hound forces and CRPF's COBRA forces are good but we should increase their number substantially.

3) Few months back it was reported by the newspapers that there was a meeting of the regional head 'comrades' of Maoists in the jungle of Jharkhand, but our forces could not capture them. We need to be fast and more men among Maoists.

4) Let the poor Maoists to be in jail after capturing them but the head comrades should be hanged in jungle for their brutal crime against our nation.

If these are done perfectly than only we can hunt them down and destroy them forever.

Accordint to me...its the saem..they didn care abt Swat..only wen the Taliban made it a no-go did they realise it and captured it back..
The only diiference is is The no-go areas of Maoists are Forests and Jungles in place of Cities as in their case.

I don't agree and request you not to compare Maoists with terrorists/Talibans. Currently Maoists are more dangerous for our country than terrorists.

Not even similar goals. TTP wishes to establish a theocratic state by terrorizing the native population into submission. The Maoists wish to establish a Marxist one party dictatorship by simultaneously attacking state forces and winning the confidence of the native population.
