MALYSHEV PLANT GOES TO A NEW COOPERATION STAGE WITH PAKISTAN

The Army will probably look at re-manufacturing the T-80UDs into Oplot-Ps. Besides upgrading the T-80UDs, it'd also mean streamlining logistics, maintenance and support. It would also mean 400+ Oplot-P/Haider MBTs (i.e. 100 new + 300+ re-manufactured). The mainstay of the armour modernization program is the AK and its subsequent variants, e.g. AK-1, AK-2, etc.

I don't think the PA will be able to replace the T-59 with new MBTs on a 1:1 basis. There's no comparison between the Cold War-era crude beater and the advanced and integrated systems of today, the latter costing several times the T-59. It'll be interesting to see how the PA tries compensating, e.g. will it aim to replace the T-59s with 8x8 AFVs and/or new tracked IFVs with 105 mm guns and ATGM launchers?

As for manufacturing tank engines. I suspect Pakistan will get overhaul and spare parts manufacturing for the 6TD-2 and 6TD-3, but for full turnkey manufacturing, they'll have to develop (or co-develop) an original solution.
Sir, PA will stay with AK and will never have over 1000 AK (of all variants) , Its all depend on AH program if its OPlot -P then we may say manufacturing line in Pakistan and 300 to 400 new tanks with T-80uds upgraded to OP-P standards (total 700 to 800). To replace T-69 and may be T-59g.
To me these 100 tanks are sugar candy for some type of engine TOT(may be full) and also this will upgrade our T-80UDs,,,,,,,, that will give us 400 latest Tanks in 3 to 4 years at max.
For replacing T-85 and AZ PA will go for AK-II and to replace other T-59 and T-69 PA can buy any other Tank( like there was a news about 400 T-90s) or PA will replace them with AH,,,,,So far OP-P does not look like AH programme.
What if OP-p is not AH , or PA buys VT-4 for AH or even just say T-90,,,, we have to understand one thing all new 3 or even 4 Tanks will shear 60% to 80% parts and other stuff and 60% to 70% of that stuff will going to be made in Pakistan..
Right now PA have T-59 , T-69 , T-85III , T-80UD , AZ , AK and AK-I total over 5 different types of Tanks.
