Maiden test of Agni-II Plus failed

To test all weather condition the test is planned in dec. Still it is in testing phase engineers have to work during harsh weather. So there is clear difference all weather missile & all weather engineers.

Adra sakka.....

But bro i thought it was the reverse?? Usually the earlier models are huge and bulky and get lighter and sophisticated over the time. That is the main difference between Agni and K series right. Correct if i am wrong.

Their diameter increased doesn't mean they are bulkier. But it is reverse. Their diameter increased but they are becoming shorter, lighter and mush more sophisticated. Apart from other technologies all the new missiles are built with advanced composites and new alloys which makes them lighter and smart.

Just look at the difference between Agni-1 and Shaurya..... Shaurya has longer range than Agni-1 but a lot smaller and have much more capabilities.

amigo, that is a PS by Shiv Aroor. Though he is correct that Agni-V is be based Agni-II with third stage.

Whats the use of such a missile which cant launch in all weather conditions.Tell me once you get nuked will you wait for clear blue sunny sky to launch your missile in reply??

A logical way you have to see the testing is...
if you perform a test in a normal condition if the missile succeeds then we can test in all weather. In case if it fails in abnormal condition we can look into those parameters..

If you test everything at the same time with the same missile.. you can rule out that easily what is wrong where..

so maiden testing in normal condition is ideal case...

Tarmak reports that the test will happen tomorrow. Weather is the reason.

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) scientists, engineers and system specialists have begun the last-minute preparations for the launch of the much-awaited Agni-II Prime missile from Wheeler Island.

The missile's maiden test is now expected on Friday, December 10 from the Interim Test Range. The launch, which was originally scheduled for today (December 9), had to be postponed by one day due to inclement weather and continuous rain that hit the Orissa coast, due to depression.

Sources confirm that the flight readiness review (FRR) meeting was held on December 8 and the crucial Range Integration Checks (RIC) are being held on December 9. "If the weather holds back, then we are sure for a launch tomorrow. The Met department says that it will be overcast for the next 24 hours with the possibility of slight drizzle. :mps:

Though Agni-II Prime is an all-weather missile, we are keen to test it for the first time under normal circumstances so that we get every minute data during the launch accurately," an official said.

While this piece is being pushed to the blogspace, the missile is already shifted to the launch pad with the launch managers engrossed in a series of internal and external checks.

And for our sister Ajtr

Ok fine this is something else ---- Not an Agni II derivative.
