BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, on behalf of the United States in the upcoming election, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's birthday party leader Shawkat Mahmud attended the meeting. BNP chairperson's adviser to the vice-chairman of the new committee was elected leader of the journalists.

I have heard of the CIA backed right-wing Contra rebels in Nicaragua. Those guys are a notorious lot. There was a lot of controversy about that.

Hillary might be too preoccupied with the Middle-East... Russia is seriously challenging the US pivot there... Also, I guess Europe could get ugly in near future which may adversely affect NATO...

Well, I am more concerned about our security. Those weapons used in the Gulshan siege apparently came from India. The security situation and the threats coming from neighboring countries is a cause for concern.

I don't trust them. Look at the Philippines. I don't see how we are going to fare with them other than offering poverty **** and cheap outfits. It's an impractical and rich man's world which will inevitably collapse. There is nothing for us.

Well, the cancellation of Sonadia project would make you wonder if the US still has some stakes in Bangladesh... China wanted to revive the project during Xi Jinping's visit this year; that precisely explains Kerry's earlier visit within a very short notice... Despite these events, China will keep engaging through whatever means they have and the setback on Japanese investments after the Gulshan Attack will further make room for Chinese inroads...

I guess, the Americans have, by now, realized that the "Responsibility Doctrine" hasn't really been effective or at least the entities they are offshoring the job to, are far from capable...
