SSW is useful if it operates behind enemy lines in peace as well as war time. SSW taking out IAF sensitive assets should be the aim of creating this formation.

In 1971 war, the Commanding officer of 3 Commando Battalion in East Pakistan gave the GOC a plan to raid Calcutta which was not adhered by the GOC. Infact 3 Commando was used for following purposes:

1. Used as Assault troops against Mukti Bahini which is basically the job of regular Infantry.
2. Clear out buildings in COIN operations in East pak.
3. Act as personal body guards to GOC's (there were minimum 5 GOC's in East pakistan).

The mention able commando operation in East Pak was capture/arrest of Mujib Ur Rehman.

Pakistan already has SF doing COIN ops in various parts but these should be responsibility of LCB's and paramilitary now whereas SF (SSG/SSW/SSG(N) should be used for commando raids which no other forces in Pakistan could undertake.

Many bombardment done by Air Force are done on information provided by SSW I am talking about against TTP in tribal areas.

I'm going off topic. But You should see Security guards at and inside Masjid - e - Haram and Masjid e Nabvi. They dont pray when they are on duty in the HARAM itself.
