Pakistani tyres industry was hit hard by smuggled tyres from India by Zardari and company.

We need to stop all imports to promote local industry and jobs creation.

What are the production capacity of them, I have heard that GoP has signed many MoUs with local and foreign companies over the upgrade of the dams and their power systems from generating more electricity by utilizing new turbines and other methods that are known as electricity from run of river power. Any news?

I am not sure...
Yes we should upgrade them to generate more electricity. Most of the ones we have built are from the 1970s during Ayub Khan's era.

Here is some info on capacity:

Tarbela Dam = 13.69 cubic kilometres (3.28 cu mi)
Mangla Dam = 7.25 km3 (5,880,000 acre·ft)

Any new govt (Hope it will be comprising honest new faces) in Pakistan will have to be very strict. It should change the policies drastically to take Pakistan towards new horizons of developments with clear cut and bright visions for industrial developments, R & D and specially the development of education sector where poor also must get the good education easily.
That govt will have to consider the national interests before any thing else and must deal firmly with traitor elements of society who are succeding in grabing and misusing the power.
