Ummm... you shouldn't use such statements so often. Unless you were strictly talking about Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs).[Longer than any country in the world!]

There are over 14,000 research centers in the United States.

What happened to that handicapped guy who was able to move his feet again after injection of stem cells to his spine. It was done in Shahid Beheshti University. Does anyone has any news about it?It have many applications but read here for more info:
Induced pluripotent stem cell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
or here for those who can read Persian:
سلول های بنیادی پرتوان القایی : منشاء ، کاربرد و چشم انداز آینده > پایگاه اطلاع رسانی سلول های بنیادی ایران
and here to know about Stem Cells types of extraction including IPSC (in Persian):
انواع سلولهاي بنيادي - مرکز سلول درمانی رویان
That guy is long dead!! I'm kidding!! I don't know anything about him... I hope he got his leg back on ground though...What happened to that handicapped guy who was able to move his feet again after injection of stem cells to his spine. Iran is now producing "Induced pluripotent stem cells or iPSCs" to be the fifth country after USA, China, Japan and Germany.
Royan Research Center in Iran is a pioneer of stem-cells researches internationally.
Royan is a leading stem cell research center, and Iran has some of the most liberal laws on stem cell research in the world. The institute founded a Department of Stem Cells in 2002 to establish embryonic stem cell lines and human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC) and to study differentiation into different kinds of cells including cardiomyocytes, beta cells, and neural cells. Researchers claimed a live birth of a cloned sheep in 2006, inviting foreign observers to verify the claim.[2]
Royan publishes the Yakhteh Journal with an estimated impact factor of 0.208.[3]
Nice thread dude I am surprised that even after so many sanctions you are ahead of us in so many fields
Hopefully with the sanctions lifted Iran can achieve its true potential
What you see in this thread is one thousandth or less of what Iran has achieved so far and it is moving a head fast as India does. India is ahead in some science and tech categories and Iran is a head in some. To my eyes, if three things are changed in any nation it will trigger a revolution in science and tech and research in that country:
1- The public will to change
2- Smart leaders to shape this will and guide into a form of national identity
3- National Pride that prevents a nation from being satisfied with what she has achieved
I personally predict that in less than 2 decades the ranking of pioneer nations in science and tech will be changed significantly. Nations like India, SK, Iran, Brasil, Turkey, Poland, Argentina, Indonesia and some others will join top movement-generator list of nation in less than decades.
We need to bond with India's IIT's and science parks. Their BSc and MSc level are as good as best Universities in the world and upto date. It is affordable for Iranians and will push the limits of our engineers. Also we need to bond with India's vast expertise in Microelectronics, Software design and verification. They have a pool of talent there that can help. We lack engineering support (companies like Arrow, Avnet, Mouser, all major support lines ...) in Iran and India has the network necessary and the distance and cost is comparable to our own. It is very costly and takes time to build this support and India has it already. Our Science parks would go faster with proper support.I hope it does both India & Iran need to gain back their rightful status as world leaders
