B model was not available when the order was placed in 12/13 while b model came in 15/16 anyway not a big deal 40 vs 70 km may be covered by strategic Sam like very long range HQ-9b

May be any additional requirements can lead to B model I think navy or pak air defense need system to cover the costal regions Karachi, gawadar and Jinnah base may lead to additional systems unless already covered by existing systems especially for anti missile defense against cruise missiles and land attack missiles

Lastly same systems can add B model missile with greater range carrying both missiles and it’s possible there may be upgrade kit for existing systems /missiles

are you sure radars will not need upgrading if longer range missiles are used ?

Logical next step should be procurement of LR SAM and only available option is HQ 9B or any latest Version.
Some rumors were here about satellite image of HQ-9 in Pakistan.

Let see when publically, we hear some confirmation about this system.
