i just read that members of the US security establishment and State Department together are trying to get Mujahideen e Khalq delisted as a terrorist organization (oh hmmm gee well I wonder why! )

and this subject has to do with the appointment of the new DG-ISI.....Mr. Islam's predecessor was well known and respected around the world for his staunch anti-terrorist views. Contrary to popular belief, the ISI and the security establishment are the only things keeping our country relatively safe. oh bhai this is a Pakistani defence forum whioch means the participants are active, former or future members of the armed forces. What is the bloody purpose of your existence on this forum?

ISI has been doing a fabulous job in defending Pakistan as the first line of defence. If the US is paying our politicians in order to get work done on their agenda then ISI is doing the right thing by creating counter weights to such moves!

Now don't come back and say that our politicians are not funded by the US because I know not only our politicians but even their kids get support by the means of scholarships etc.

It is the same ISI which defeated the USSR and it is the same ISI which has kept the Kashmir issue alive for the sake of our future generations.

It is the Pakistan armed forces and the ISI which have shown maturity and have not toppled the govt. yet. It would have been not an issue for them to bring hundereds of thousands of people out on the street and throw the set up in a bin. The Americans and others would work with anyone in power in Pakistan!!

Everything is put into consideration to chose the most deserving candidate to run a professional, critically important and top Intelligence agency. There are many reasons why Lt. General Zaheer-ul-Islam is chosen, and some of them are already mentioned in this thread over and over.

Atleast Nargis and Veena Malik have much better repo. than Generals like Pasha and Kayani.
