The new COAS has to choose what path to take.

He does have an opportunity to sit down with all stakeholders and exfil the estab out of this mess. IK also has an opportunity to get something out of this, since he knows Asim Munir, and now there is no personal grudge as there was with Bajwa. The whole report of Bushra Bibi is way overblown.

IMO the president should not hold the summary and just sign it.

According to Shuja Nawaz, the old establishment hack on deputation for colonial service in DC, Asim Munir was removed from post of DG ISI on IK's request after the former had gone to him to apprise him of his "family's" corruption.

Not sure how much truth was to this accusation or the veracity of this anecdote. But establishment and their apologists have created a narrative of acrimony between the two, how close to reality it is will be revealed in the coming weeks or months.

Whatever has happened in last 8 months, this was all due to appointment of COAS. NS wanted to make his man new COAS and this was no secret. So either NS has change of heart and made Assim Munir new COAS based on merit (if its a merit) or Aasim Munir has given assurances to NS in ongoing tussle with IK in return of making him COAS when Aasim himself is supposedly retiring on 26th Nov 3 days before the retirement of Bajwa. So if you think NS has made Aasim Munir based on merit, its you choice but don't expect others to follow you.

NS has given favour to Aasim and you think NS don't expect anything in return.

This is actually a really good point. But why would Asim keep his word to NS?

Removal should have a legit reason

I missed the part of the constitution that said the PM has to provide reasons before he can remove a DG ISI.

That would mean those reasons have to be valid.
That would mean the validity will have to be determined.
That would mean there would have to be a competent authority to determine the validity.

Since there's no such competent authority, I'd say you are talking our your a*s, sir.
