What can be worse than being told, "Go back to where you came from."?

Being actually sent back to one's ancestral lands.. Mass exodus of Punjabis From Quetta, and expulsion of Punjabi businessmen from Karachi

Being offloaded from buses and killed for having 'Punjab' address on your National Identity Card

Being killed for speaking Punjabi outside Punjab

The list goes on

Yet these guys here have the audacity to blame Punjabis for everything, and play ethnic victim card

The only solution is an independent Karachi province.

That is true but looking at the level of vindictive hatred harbored by Muhajirs against local ethnic groups and their cultures, one could argue this may not be a good idea. Muhajirs in government with absolute power in a Muhajir majority Subah would be a nightmare for ethnic minorities

That's goes the other way around too, no? It's not like the current power holders aka sindhis have any love lost for them? At least that way, the muhajirs will have no one else to blame anymore and PPP will have to deliver in rural sindh rather than leech off Karachi to hold onto power.

But the Sindhis are a minority in Karachi and Sindhis holding greater sway over the city administration acts as a sort of counterbalance to prospective Muhajir majoritarian tyranny. Ideally, that should not be the case but the fact remains that even after more than 75 years of Pakistan's formation, Karachi has not experienced an ethnic blend. Instead, ethnic segregation and strife are bitter realities.

Make him fight with Honey Badger, justice will be delivered.

Unlike most on this forum Id never support Karachi "province" as its a VERY BAD idea, it'll alienate Sindh, Karachi is a historical part of Sindh, and without financial help from Karachi, Sindh cant function, port cities the world over are diverse doesn't mean you give them a provincial status, as it almost always triggers mainlanders of that region to extreme actions - ethnic segregation is normal but beef is not, that beef and racism is what causes problems

Karachi with Sindh like NYC with NY - an empowered mayoral system but part of New York nonetheless, do the same for Lahore, Peshawar, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, and 2,3 industrial cities

Pakistan's survival lies in Muhajir Governmnent.

All 4 major nations of Pakistan have made Pakistan a complete circus.

Karachi would have never become a multi ethnic city if Muhajirs resisted with arms...It is testimony of our open hearts.

We still give huge charity to different ethnicities here. Look at streets especially in Ramadan

The fact is Muhajirs ask for their rights and we'll continue to do so.

Karachi is now piece of shit because of one component of son of soils - Sindh as she has nothing to offer to people/city except waderas.

Low standards really..

Urdu Speakers dwarf Sindhis by huge margin when it comes to governance - no comparison there at all...

We are the rightful owners of this city as we live here and have fought for it...

Well, Karachi became a 'part' of Sindh in 1970 only... Before that, it was a federal territory, and later on a part of West Pakistan (One Unit Scheme)... Muhajirs claim that they chose Karachi (and greatly contributed to its development) because it was the capital city of Pakistan (not Sindh). They felt betrayed when the capital was later shifted to Islamabad and Karachi was "given" to Sindh .. Their grievance has some merit to it

It's hard to disagree with what you have stated though. Anyway, meeting the legal and constitutional requirements in Pakistan for making new provinces is almost impossible. It would require a two-thirds majority in the Sindh provincial assembly as well as a two-thirds majority in the parliament to make a new "Karachi" province. Moreover, we are a federation, and any demands for making new provinces along ethnic, linguistic, or racial lines cannot be accepted.

'Empowered local government' is the way forward
