When China used Vietnam to counter USA in cold war, China said it is volunteer help. Then China don't have right to ask Vietnam to pay back.

Don't forget that China argued with USA in back of Vietnam and stopped help from 1968 when the war was going on brutally, it was more harm to Vietnam. !!!

oh yeah, China gen. was so smart, but why they couldnt help themself to free Taiwan ??

btw: China history book always so different with the other ones , jut like in 1979 everyone agreed they China lost badly even Mr.Deng came to US and beg for US's protection against a possible Soviet naval attack , but China said they win , and they dont need US support

As for asking vn not attacking south vn, remembering the talk between Chairman Mao and the vn leaders then, throughout, I do not see anything for such restriction.

In addition, China warned u.s. not attacking northern v.n., otherwise, China would send regulars to fight them. So u.s. did not dare to do so. So north v.n. congs set up its military training facilities, manufacture facilities and etc all along the side bordering with China, or even in China to get their axx protected.
