Legal action against India in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) is considering legal action against the alleged violation of the Constitution by the government, a UNP Central Provincial Councilor has said.

UNP Central Provincial Councilor Sanjeewa Kaviratne has told the media that legal action could be taken against the government for its alleged violation of the Constitution by not fully granting the powers vested with the Provincial Councils according to the 13th Amendment.

Kaviratne has said that the government has now agreed to India to implement the 13th Amendment and that it was the said amendment that is used by India to intervene in Sri Lanka's affairs.

He has noted that the government had left room for India to intervene to push for power devolution under the 13th Amendment by not implementing the Constitutional provisions.

However, Kaviratne has added that the UNP was ready to discuss the matter with the government.

Will not give in to LTTE elements

President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said that he would not give in to demands of the LTTE that come from certain Northern political elements, but would give what the people in the North want after discussing power devolution with the North and South political leadership.

It is okey I guess. People who dont contribute their views, but copy paste article, face this dilemma, whether to keep the title or write it themselves.
Sometime writing the title is tough.
