New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi attacked Pakistan PM Imran Khan for his comments on minority rights in the country and advised him to learn something about inclusive politics and minority rights from India.

Taking to his twitter handle Owaisi said that according to the Pakistani Constitution, only a Muslim is qualified to be President of the country but on the contrary, India has seen multiple Presidents from oppressed communities.

“It’s high time Khan sahab learns something from us about minority rights and inclusive politics,” Owaisi tweeted.

The row over minority rights was stoked after Bollywood actor and theatre personality Naseeruddin Shah said he was concerned over on violence in India over cow vigilantism and religious intolerance and added that he feels worried about his children.

Reacting over Shah’s statement, Khan said that giving equal rights to the minorities was the chief vision of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah and stated that his country will show the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi how to treat these groups.

Meanwhile, the veteran actor slammed Khan for his statement and said that the PM should not be feeling concerned about issues that do not concern him. Shah also added that India being a democratic country for the past 70 years knows how to look after herself.

Shah’s statement generated a widespread response from all sections of the society including Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who said that India is the most tolerant country in the world and added that no society can be more tolerant than India.
