Having an independent central bank is a good thing for Pakistan long term, but it is not good thing for the elites who can get loans approved and written off as they wish, and the government can borrow and fiddle with interest rates as they want.

Guess what will happen?

Commercial banks wrote off Rs87 billion between 1971 and 2009, according to the details submitted in the Supreme Court in 2018. While in 2019 Imran Khan government wrote off Rs.300+ billion to few influential in one go.

The bigger concern is not about the amount of aid, but how much of that aid (local and foreign) will be utilized properly and make it to the people who need it the most.

The PDM alliance (PMLN+PPP) have a horrible track record when it comes to efficient governance and minimizing corruption, especially in Sindh.

There's a reason why Imran Khan can raise billions in hours but you have to check your surroundings to make sure your furniture hasn't vanished after watching the PDM leadership on Television.

Shehbaz Sharif successfully implemented and completed hundreds of projects in Punjab funded by international donors, he has good reputation among them.

You mean limited vanity projects primarily in Lahore - he’s a Mayor, and not even a good one, as can be seen with his incompetence as PM.

Contrast Shahbaz’s limited vanity projects with Imran Khans massive welfare programs such as rolling out universal healthcare in KP & Punjab and the expansion of the Ehsas programs and langars and shelters for the homeless and poor laborers.

There is no comparison to be made between the two.

Let professional make judgement calls. Har cheez badniyati nhn hoti. That's why bureaucracy stops working too...NAB pakar leti hai for 'causing a potential loss of income to national exchequer'. It's a friggin judgement call, it can either go right or go wrong. If the call is consistently wrong, then change the person making it and bring in a proper professional.

So according to this thread if PDM takes the IMF loan it will go straight to the swiss accouts, but when PTI took the same loans and waited till the last moment and got them on worst possible conditions, it was halal money. No wonder the nation is going down the drain. Instead of calling what is wrong, wrong, you just make an excuse, because you dont want to admit that your leaders are at fault.

This misconception was (and still is) so strong that PM Imran Khan announced with fanfare in a midnight rambling speech to the nation that PTI government is going to set-up a commission for loans to be taken in the last ten years which will determine where all this debt gone.

And only found out that:
