Increase in oil or anyother commodities prices to mainly accommodate elite centric subsidies e.g an individual 6 million pkr worth of annual tea quota severely impacts "sub-humans" like bhatta/ construction labourers , the class which never gets registered by our cognitive dissonance ------ in happiness and in sorrow.

To be honest, since day one I am against private vehicles atleast in cities. government should focus on public transport. Import/manufacture 20000-30000 buses and run these buses in cities as well as intra-city transport. On the other hand increase petrol price to Rs. 300 per litre while reducing price of diesel as it is used in industries.

Let me repeat myself as surely you were unable to understand what I said. This is what I said

Strengthen country wide public bus transport system as bus is a people's choice when it come to transport as compare to rackshaw, Suzuki, chingchi, wagon etc.

Increase prices of petrol but reduce prices of diesel even further then that in international market. Basically use increase in petrol price to subsidize prize of diesel. Diesel is what factory use, diesel is what heavy transports use in supply chains. Reducing diesel price will benefit Pakistani citizens. Not reduction in petrol price. Car in Pakistan is only a status symbol. Warna to koi b afford waisy b ni kr Sakta Aalto or mehran se upar ki cheez.

Actually there is a good case for increasing petrol price to around USD 1.3 in par with most of Asia. It would add substantial revenue for GOP. Plus would encourage switch to public transport and cleaner fuels like electric and CNG.

Petrol Price in India will likely go higher after the UP elections. Pakistan's people are spoiled with cheap petrol.. relatively speaking

I don't see BJP loosing in UP but I can foresee increase in Fuel price as per your estimate even if International rate decreases.

Because Modi/BJP needs money for its populist programmes to be announced before 2024 elections
