Latest petrol price in Pakistan

Very cheap. Even in United States which have tons of oil production, it is about 170pkr(some areas around 210pkr). And mind it, US is one of the richest country.

IMO, petrol price for residential users should be around 250pkr/litre. And subsidy should be given to essential or export oriented industries and business.

Petrol is the single biggest hole in Pakistan treasury.

Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer, is experiencing an acute shortage of fuel, which is causing huge disruption across the country.

People are waiting at petrol stations for several hours, some into the night trying to get fuel.

Here we have $ 3.80 per gallon, 40% increase...

To be honest, since day one I am against private vehicles atleast in cities. government should focus on public transport. Import/manufacture 20000-30000 buses and run these buses in cities as well as intra-city transport. On the other hand increase petrol price to Rs. 300 per litre while reducing price of diesel as it is used in industries.

i am in Sydney these days .. petrol is 180c per litter..= 226 PK per litter...

real solution lies in mass public transport infrusture... i personally dont believe petrol should be cheap... it should be more expensive... that would force the gov to improve public transport
It wouldn't be wise if you have posted Sydney fuel price in comparison to Pakistan's fuel price.

One of the factors is buying power of public, which is weak in Pakistan. This is why 2000 cc and above cars are common in Sydney, while Pakistanis prefer under 1000cc where as 1800cc is thought to be on 'heavy' side. Second is roads and driving methods (minus the wobbly Parramatta road in Sydney). The fuel average from vehicles are better in Sydney. They are even better in Melbourne, since Sydney is hilly at most places.

you didnt understand the point..

there is little any gov can do when your country is a net importer of oil

pity for 30+ years none of the prior clowns ever thought of getting a mass transit system...

If these guys had daily fluctuating fuel prices + different fuel prices from pump to pump like Australia they would have had a heart attack by now! 😂

It was 2$/Litre for 91 octane most basic/regular fuel a day or two ago.

In Pakistan it about 0.913 USD (1 USD to PKR is approximately 175)

additionally there is "0 (zero) Sales Tax" on Petroleum products

In last 7 months:
Crude petroleum exports up 205% to $133.35 million.
Refined petroleum imports up by 95%.

Showing bad situation of our refineries & capability to process crude oil.

We export Crude Oil & Import refined one, a country with cheapest labor in the region.

Why are not importing crude and refining, instead we buy finished product and also import by-products of refineries, which are very important for other industries like plastic, fertiliser, textile etc. Import of these products pushes up the production cost of our industry.

We were jumping up and down on MoU of SA to build a large refinery in Pakistan but we have not moved an inch forward on that issue.

The gas station down the street from me has gasoline at $1.55 Canadian/L. Just think, 2 years ago traders were PAYING people to take delivery of crude oil when the futures contracts went negative
