据印度当地英文媒体《德干纪事报》2月16日报道,13日在科钦船厂发生的爆炸是由于工人焊接作业用的乙炔泄漏所致。爆炸目前已造成至少5人死亡,11人受伤。

《印度快报》14日报道称,一艘正在印度科钦造船厂维修的钻井船在13日上午发生爆炸。科钦船厂位于印度西南部,是印度最大的国营船厂,始建于1972年。印度首艘国产航母“维克兰特”号就在这家船厂建造。

当天出事船只为印度籍钻井船Sagar Bhushan号,隶属于印度石油天然气公司(ONGC),建于1987年,总吨位约1.1万吨。

大约在13日上午9点15分左右,船体内部突然发生爆炸。就在爆炸发生前不久,有人报告称在船内一个交流室附近发生气体泄漏。

爆炸发生后,消防与急救迅速抵达现场。当时有12名工人被立刻送往医院,其中5人伤重不治,另有1人为全身45%烧伤。事后查明,这些工人在爆炸发生前正在船底部水箱进行切割和焊接作业。

一名幸存者回忆,爆炸发生前所有人都在水箱内进行焊接。突然发生爆炸,把所有人都困在水箱内,有一些意识还清楚的工人之后奋力在水箱一侧开了一个口子,这才得以逃生。

科钦船厂方面称,该船于2017年12月7日抵达船厂,今年1月12日进干船坞。原定2月28日出坞,4月7日完成维修。

有知情的管理人员表示,事发的周二是假日,所以只有很少的人留在船厂。不然作业的人数会更多,会酿成更大的惨剧。船厂方面还对媒体表示,爆炸只是发生在“局部”,并未对船只造成重大破坏。

印度造船国务部长在第二天视察事故现场,中央政府和船厂方面分别组建了事故调察组,对爆炸发生原因和可能存在的管理责任进行调查。

另据印度当地英文媒体《德干纪事报》(Deccan Chronicle)16日称,初步调查显示,爆炸是由于切割作业使用的乙炔泄漏所致。调查负责人表示,“为什么乙炔会泄漏?施工人员为什么没有觉察?作业中是否违反安全守则?这几点将是今后调查的重点。”
