What's new

Large number of weapons being smuggled into Pakistan from Afghanistan caught at Kurram.

On the contrary buddy, Pakistan was larger then ... smaller today ... one cannot keep deflecting problems it faces and expect them to correct themselves... it is a sign of lethargy at extreme proportions... laissez faire attitude... hoping against hope that the other foot doesn't drop... call it whatever but Pakistanis have been reactionary and not visionary. Besides you cannot treat one like $#!T and expect gratitude in return either way it is not this reason why Pakistan has bad rapport among Afghans... primarily Pakistan has lost the propaganda war waged against it, in hopes fences will serve the purpose.... WRONG! You do not leave a friend or a potential friend go... especially a neighbor! Pakistan already has an enemy to the east... an uneasy relationship with Iran and potential enemy state of Afghanistan... think about it yourself... Afghans will make do perhaps with Chabahar, what will Pakistan do? Keep animosity cooking on slow burner on all sides? Again hoping against hope that nothing will come to pass?
Understand, what real or perceived grievances Afghans are harboring and assuage them for your own survival and benefit, not to mention simultaneously for Afghans as well...

You made no sense from the first sentence. A lot of irrelevant disjointed opinions without backing them up with facts.
In 1979 Pakistan had a population of less than 80 million, in 2020 a population of about 226 million. In 1979 we did not have much of an industrial base, and a very small defence industry. Today, our industrial base is much larger then it was in 1979 and so is our defence manufacturing capability.

Please try to apply some reason to your answers, it results in a constructive discussion. The rest of your answer was just a bunch of fantasy words that did not make sense, so I prefer not to tackle that.

We need to separate the relationship between Afghanistani Govt and the general population. As others have said, we have one of the longest borders with them in Asia, they are not going anywhere.

We must develop economic links and encourage Afghanistanis to work for progress and they should refrain from seeing us as every evil.

Pakistan govt should ask that they drop the silly Durand nonsense and move into 21st century. In return we can offer sea links, trade & business visas etc

I get it!... but I'm not good at spoon feeding.
Best of luck.

Unless Pakistan moves itself out of its current location there is NOTHING it can do to stop aggression from a hostile neighbor especially who is acting as a proxy. When Soviets were coming to Afghanistan its king reached out exactly because of Soviet covert ops in upsetting the paradigm and change a docile king and instead install a puppet regime... they reached out to Pakistan, even then!

Pakistan backed out and instead had a low level secretary handle the matter, basically shove it under the rug... once Soviets did start using their proxies in Afghanistan to not only pacify the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan but also Pashtun areas of Pakistan itself under the guise of a Pashtun nationalist party ... same paradigm was being played in Pakistani Balochistan. King was deposed, anarchy set in ... Pakistan started supporting insurgents in Afghanistan and finally the Soviets themselves poured in... Pakistan fought that war as it's own... Pakistan itself was on stake... all because they didn't have visionaries... Once Soviets left Pakistan left Afghanistan again to be a laboratory for everyone to chime in and basically cause harm to Pakistan itself... today again the same paradigm plays and Pakistan instead of taking ownership is cowering for cover ... building a fence ... which will only stop local non militant groups but those intending harm will only see this as opportunity to exploit. Israel and Egypt haven't been able to seal Gaza for heavens sake!

Keep deluding yourselves and heads under sand!

Its pretty obvious that Afghanistan out of Pakistan's influence is a danger to our people and country so what should Pakistan do? Take the Pushtun areas or invade all of Afghanistan? I say Pakistan, Iran and Tajikistan sit down and divide Afghanistan, Pushtun areas bordering Pakistan goes to us, Tajikistan take the norther extreme Wakahan corridor and other Tajik areas, Irananians can take part of Western Afghanistan.

There is no invasion... status quo shifts over... same paradigm... only problem will be to sifting through the bureaucracy and security of anti state actors... for the most part business as usual... Afghan people want to liberated from thuggery and that is what Pakistan can provide.

Ofcourse, that the whole political structure needs to be revamped but that is a talk for another day. It is all about lowest common denominator... the system that works efficiently and effectively at the lowest level works at the top as well ...
