Looks like the logo design is neat, and heres our
national bird Doel(magpie)!

Sorry for off topic but is that a magpie? The magpies we have here are vicious little sh*ts. I have been attacked by them several times.

===============

Although price wise its not that cheap?10.1" and with Linux OS one can buy Asus/Acer Netbooks for about 170/190 Australian Dollars. Good news nonetheless.

Well the Awami League's promise to create a "Digital Bangladesh" by 2021 may not have been empty rhetoric afterall. The lowest end model priced at 10,000 Taka(only 150 US dollars) will be affordable to middle-class consumers. Although it will only be able to run Internet and a simple office package, that will be enough for most school children.

Good to know Doels attack random Indians, no wonder
its our national bird! ;)

On a side note yeah the price still needs to be subsidized abit more
but over here netbooks with atom starts above 20k so at 12k
the price seems reasonable.

It says after the initial stage...10,000 laptops will be produced annually.

Looks like the production of BD-08 rifles have a competition now...!

Cheers!!!

It is per 10,000 month!

With these prices, easily hundreds of thousands could be sold each year.

 They attack anyone running/ cycling in the parks. Just a heads up for you, if you ever plan to come down under.

On topic, wonder if Linux as OS will put off some buyers. Maybe they can offer two versions, one with good old windows(at slightly higher price), and the cheaper one with Linux.

People will just use cracked windows for 50 cents... most of the computers and laptops are sold that way in Dhaka. ;)

Pirated windows anyone ?:partay:
Well my laptop came with genuine windows otherwise
I would have gone for the 50 cent release

By the way the first one seems to be based on android,
I don't think its a good idea though kids will
get a chance to understand better UI then linux.

Ah yes, i cross checked...its 10,000/month.

Means its 120,000 per year...oh my... now that is a number isnt it...!!

CHeers!!!

Well! depends when DOEL wishes to enter the Indian market.

But i'm pretty sure they"ll concentrate on establishing a strong base at home.

It will hopefully not take much time to strengthen local customer base.

India, being a neighbor and a growing economy in conjunction with a significant amount of fixed/limited income earners, this should be a good platform for export...Doel will probably look to India as a potential export customer...later call is yours.

Cheers!!!

I am now waiting for Samsung's 1.6 billion dollar invesment. They will certainly export more than billion dollar worth of electronics for sure. BD will be as par with Malaysia by the end of this decade.. :woot:
