Lanka, Pakistan hold defence talks | Colombo Gazette
The second round of the annual Armed Forces Staff Talks between Sri Lanka and Pakistan commenced at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Pakistan this week, the Ministry of Defence said today.
The Armed Forces Staff Talks were initiated in 2012 to promote professional and mutually beneficial relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
The talks are designed to improve bilateral cooperation and understanding between the Armed Forces through direct and open exchange of facts on matters of mutual interest .The focus of the discussions extends to training, joint exercises, research and development and an array of military exchange programmes.
The Sri Lankan delegation led by Major General HCP Goonetilleke comprises Brigadier WRP de Silva, Brigadier RA Nugera and Lieutenant Colonel GNU Jayaratne from the Army, Commodore NPS Attygala and Commander (N) JAPC Jayasinghe from the Navy and Air Commodore NHV Gunarathne and Air Commodore AH Wijesiri from the Air Force.
