PESHAWAR: Over 150-year old historical temple of Baba Karam Singh was demolished overnight by the land mafia in Mardan, DawnNews reported on Thursday.

The 35 feet tall national heritage was turned into debris in the native town of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Hoti. A well and some old constructions around the temple were also demolished by the land grabbers, said the report.

The temple of Baba Karam Singh, built in 1846, is considered one of the holy places for the people belonging to Sikh religion.

The Sikh community of the province has demanded reconstruction of the temple and also protection to the other sacred places for them.

Some people are just not bothered as how Hindu and its like minded brotherly faith are being destroyed all around it. You are appalled by the pun but are totally unbothered about the plight of our Hindu brothers in countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh where they live in sub human condition.

We should not try and become a thekedar of Hindus and Sikhs all over the world, just like Pakistan tries to do for Muslims. Sorry buddy, I don't want to be politically correct. Only India is there to speak out for the atrocities against Hindus/Sikhs in other countries just like we did for the banning of Gita in Russia. Saudis treat muslims from non arab countries like slaves and donot even allow their women to be married to muslims from Pakistan and India. If they can be thekedar of Muslims of then why not India.
Do you think BBC, CNN, Guardian would be bothered about the plight of Hindus in Pakistan and Bangldesh. It was only after christain started getting attacked in Pakistan these western media outlets took notice. I saw a BBC documentay on the recent Pakistan floods were in reporter instead of saying Hindus were being disriminated in Sindh(relief distrubtion) used the word religious minority to descibe Hindus. Certainly that BBC reporter would not have used word religious minority to describe a Muslim in India. Have you ever come across a western article regarding the plight of Hindus in Pak and Banladesh where in their number has greatly dwindled.

Grave of Heroic Baba Karam Singh found
Devotees of the ancient Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Karam Singh at Badaon village in Mahilpur block of this district were in for a surprise as they found a perfectly intact grave of Shaheed Baba Karam Singh while digging the plinth of a building during reconstruction of the gurdwara.

The news of the recovery of the grave spread in the area like a wild fire and people thronged the gurdwara to have a glimpse of the martyr who sacrificed his life while fighting the Mughal army to save Brahmin girls.

Shaheed Baba Karam Singh was a member of the army of Sahibzada Ajit Singh, son of Guru Gobind Singh, and fought many battles against the Mughals.

Surjit Singh, president of the parbandhak committee of the gurdwara and former sarpanch of Badon village, and committee member Amrik Singh told this correspondent that the digging of the plinth had been suspended and special measures adopted to keep the ancient grave (with the beautiful painting works on the tombstone) in tact.

Baba Karam Singh was seriously wounded during a battle with the Mughal army when he along with Sahibzada Ajit Singh was saving the Brahmin girls.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh left him in the village for treatment where Baba Karam Singh succumbed to his injuries and was buried in the village.

Later, a gurdwara was built on the grave in the memory of Baba Karam Singh, they claimed. The committee had decided to keep the grave as historic monument and would open it for the general public.

This is all happening bcs our first PM Nehru in all his wisdom(if he has any) didn't push through partition 100%. There should been a 100% transfer of population, with all Muslim population going to Pakistan and all non-Muslim population coming to India.
