Lamborghini creates world's first 'self-healing' sports car

.
I do as well. There's nothing like the smell of burning, high octane fuel and 800+ HP, but I thought that wasn't a very smart marketing move by Ferrari since that is the old-school concept of sports cars. With today's auto trending and tomorrow's avid, sport's car collector, there is no doubt that the market for an electric Ferrari along the lines of LaFerrari or even Enzo would be worth in the billions of $. They should rethink that principle of theirs.

Open the front trunk and there's probably enough room for a Gucci hand purse. :-)

They don't want to abandon their beloved intoxicating high revving engines. They figure even if electric car goes mainstream rich folks would still pay for their gas engine cars even if gas stations become scarce.

I remember seeing a Top Gear episode involving Ferrari La Ferrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918. All those were hybrids. They were saying Ferrari will incorporate hybrid technology to increase the performance of the cars, but never a complete Electric car. I think they should not put all their eggs in one basket. I say make one electric car with 'gas engine sound' coming out of speakers and tied to acceleration.
Its already in use in many performance cars .

The one in Wayland

It used to be up this way in Peabody! No one around here was buying any so they must've moved LOL!
Used to drive by every once in a while but that was about it.

For some odd reasons.... never got interested in sports cars..... I like Bikes/cruiser, 4X4 Trucks and classic Muscle cars... like Cobra,60s Mustangs (shelby),Oldmobiles,Camaros etc...

Cast iron V8, 4 barrel carburetor 380HP 0-60-5.2 sec. 1/4 mile in 14.8 seconds and the smell of burning gas and hot asphalt.....mmmm. :-)

I can see where they're coming from. It just seems to me that the next generation that can and wants to buy a Ferrari, an electric one would be much more appealing than anything that you would need to put gasoline in. I can just see the new crowd of billionaires driving electric Ferraris down the beautiful streets on Monaco or Milan or Los Angeles.

But there is no business for them in India when compared to European nations or Australia.
However cricketer Yuvraj Singh owns one:

Any idea what the specs are for this electric super car? HP, torque, top speed and even battery charge.

Although I would have a tough time choosing between that one and the Veneno Roadster, to be perfectly honest with you folks. The scoop vent for the motor that turns into a vertical stabilizer fin tied into the rear wing spoiler is what makes this car! However, tough to justify spending $4.5 mil on even this beauty.

Don't much like private personal transport. The future is public transport, like electric buses and overhead pod car taxis.

Besides, this Lamborghini won't work on Indian roads, as it is too low, almost scraping the road.

However, the self-healing technique can be used in public transport vehicles.
